Because the worst case scenario is you committing a mass shooting, and you cannot say that you never will commit a mass shooting because you don't know and can't see the future.
So if the possibility exists that you would commit a mass shooting, shouldn't we do everything in our power to prevent that?

That isn't a promise you can make; and because it's not a promise you can make or hold yourself accountable for, why should anyone trust in it when their safety and life is at stake?
