Hello Dutch,

Pulling off the later is going to be a very cool trick.

TBH, I think we're getting there, but there's a long row to hoe. Breaking into space colonization will open near infinite opportunities to explore how best to solve human problems....but as mentioned before, being human is part of the problem.

If we can't solve our problems here on Earth they will follow us into space.

It would be ideal if we could have one world government before we travel too far in space.

Our "problem" is that we are human. The only way to eliminate human problems is to eliminate humans. Now, I don't want to be judgy, but I think that solution is too harsh.

We could eliminate world hunger if we coalesced around one powerful world government.

We need all humans to be well educated.

We need to stop hoarding knowledge.

And we need to totally put down BS.

Religion needs to be marginalized. People are certainly free to believe what they want but religion is not a basis for government.

Government needs to be based on logic, common sense, science and human rights.

All humans have the same basic human needs. We can see to those and so much more. We have the means.

All the money spent on national defense all over the world is wasted.

There should be no individual states which threaten to go to war with one another. That is so old fashioned.

It's time to clean up this planet.

We have to end pollution and use resources wisely. Again, we have the means.

It is frustrating to see advanced knowledge wasted.

Spoken like a true rainbows and lolly pop moron. I suppose if you could get billions of people to all wake up one day as Mother Theresa some of your plans could MAYBE come to fruition. But they wont,....EVER. It is not in our nature. Or do you plan on imposing it at the point of a gun which of course nullifies it all ?

Those are all noble goals but unrealistic in humanity's current state of development. You can try to force it like Stalin did, but it just ends up killing a lot of people.

Agreed to day's world is not accepting of such concepts but some are ready to talk about such things and that is where it begins. Just ask any beauty pageant contestant what the world needs. The basis really doesn't have to be any more complicated than that. The rest is just talk and changing minds. Also agreed, it can't be forced on a large scale like Stalin. Of course there will always be hold-outs and anti-social people. They need to be marginalized just like they need that here.

You know, my approach to the unruly would be completely effective here in the forum if wise and respectful posters would simply make that leap.

We need more people to stop playing with the sad fools as if they are toys. There is such a better way. Respect them even if they don't respect you. But give them no attention. Shut them out. (which, btw, is the absolute worst thing you can do to them. It is the nuclear option of discussion boards.) That is how it is done.

The forum would become two forums. The civilized would be able to have adult conversations and nobody among them would give the unruly any attention at all.

The question everyone needs to ask themselves is this:

"If everyone were to conduct themselves in this certain way, would it produce harmony or mayhem?"

Striving for the utmost in respect and civility is the only way, and the obvious correct answer.

That needs to be the goal for everyone to rise to. If we can do that here, it can be expanded to the entire world.

Playing with other people's minds for amusement is shallow. When we can rise above that we can have world peace.

And that begins with each of us. One person at a time.

Most never achieve such a level of maturity. Others manage such wisdom later in life. That is a beginning.

a. We need to get more people to do that.

b. The age at which that occurs needs to become younger and younger.

c. When people are raised that way, they will raise their young that way.

And then we will be where we need to be. All across the world.

At this point, all it takes is vision. I can see the solution. It's exciting. Naturally, I want to share these powerful ideas. That's all.

Like a seed.

Plant it, it will grow.
