The Delta Variant has changed the war against COVID.

President Biden said 35,000 vaccinated people have gotten COVID.

Fortunately, few of them are dying.

We are only just now becoming aware of how dangerous the Delta Variant is. And the change in tactics by the enemy is the reason the CDC has responded by changing the guidelines in this war.
 
Let's make it simple About 80 percent of the old people are vaccinated. They are not geting Covid like the younger people are. They have reached herd and are far safer.
The younger people are not well vaccinated. Repub young people are under 20 percent vaccinated. They are in hospitals crying that they should have gotten the shot.
There is nothing that tells us not getting the shot is a smart idea.

The ex-prez is still pushing lies and the QAnonsense still rages in little circles. Once they attack and there's a lot of blood in American streets then the majority of Americans will demand their bullshit be stopped at the source.

That's for sure. I know some. It's easy to think your invincible at that age.

The news is very difficult to wrap your head around. It's much easier to think it's all just fake, made up, a reason for big pharma to profit.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Friday released new data which showed that a majority of people infected with COVID-19 in a recent outbreak in Massachusetts were fully vaccinated.

The data, taken from COVID-19 cases reported in July in an unidentified town in Barnstable County, was released after an internal CDC document was leaked which showed that the delta variant of the virus can be spread from fully vaccinated people at the same rate as from unvaccinated people.

In July, officials identified 469 cases of COVID-19 associated with summer events and large public gatherings in Barnstable County. Nearly three-quarters of those infections (346) were detected in people who were fully vaccinated, according to the data.

About 79% of the vaccinated patients who had breakthrough infections experienced some symptoms, including four people who were hospitalized. One unvaccinated person was also hospitalized. No deaths were associated with the outbreak.

People are experiencing side effects of the vaccines - such as feeling safer and protected from dying of COVID! Recalcitrant Republicans refuse to learn because they are consumed with contempt for the thought of Democrats possibly being correct.

The spread of the disease is thus directly proportional to Republican recalcitrance. (We must wear that down!)

It almost seems Republicans would rather see millions die than be to set straight by Democrats.

Their nonsense sets up a vicious loop.

If only they could set aside their emotional filters and really listen with an open mind... (Some wise ones do!)

But alas. For the most part we can't get past their impenetrable feelings.

Looking at the data for yesterday, one thing stands out.

A HUGE jump in the number of people in Serious or Critical condition.

It was 9,334 people.

In one day it went up by more than 2,000 people.

It's over 11,500 now. Nearly all unvaccinated.

If you have not done so, you cannot get vaccinated fast enough.

Remember: It takes weeks for the protection to build. The more effective vaccines require two doses, weeks apart. Then it is another 2 weeks after the second dose for maximum immunity to occur.

I would advise that in the duration you maintain maximum distancing and use a tight fitting mask when you can't distance.

If you want the best chance of having a long life...

We've all heard the stories of those who held out too long, got stricken with COVID, and then asked for the vaccine on their way to the ICU when it was too late.

It must be heart-breaking for doctors to have to tell them: "I'm sorry. It's too late for that now." "You wouldn't be protected for over a month, and now you might not live that long."
