Dem FOOD LION execs demand 61 year old Vet REMOVE US Flag MASK because it's OFFENSIVE

Goodness...July 4th celebrations for some here must be emotionally draining....

Unfortunately, Earl and Top have the right to spit on the American Flag, or use it as toilet paper. We do not have to like you for it, but I guess we have to tolerate it. If you are doing it on purpose, I may break my tolerance...

The point is you do not have the right to disrespect the American Flag at work. Your employer can force you to follow the basic rules of respect for the American Flag.

How is he disrespecting the flag? They reversed their "policy", btw...did they not?;)

In all that time, no one taught you the basic rules for respecting the American Flag?

I had customs and courtesies classes, Walter.

A veteran is not on active duty and can display the flag as a sign of respect.

He defended your sorry ass, Walter, while you and your ilk were spitting on the Vietnam war heros.

the gentleman in question has earned the right to display the flag however he wishes-as with any other vet

The case that tested the flag burning law was a veteran who had been mistreated by the Veterans Administration, and burned the flag as part of a protest. Being a veteran does not "earn" you the right to disrespect the American Flag.

(For Walt: the "federal flag code" is simply a recommendation....)

It is certainly not a "recommendation" for anyone in the US Armed Forces. You will go to a military prison for disrespecting the American Flag.

The Federal Flag Code is the rules we have for respecting the American Flag. It is not a law(anymore) for civilians, but good people still follow it.

Respecting the American Flag is not flaunting rights. I have the right to respect the American Flag. If anything I have more of a right to respect the American Flag than you have to disrespect it.

No you are disrespecting a vet who has the right to display a flag facsimile how he wishes. Making you a flaming cowardly asshole.

I’m sorry, I supported the civil rights movement and I support the legalization of marijuana, sometimes the laws are wrong and civil disobedience is required. John Lewis callee it “good trouble”

So you only respect the constitution when you agree with it. GOT IT!

The code simply suggests...there is no law...That is your choice not to wear the flag...and should be the veteran's choice to wear it....

It is a rule for people who want to respect the US Flag. Clearly, you see no value in following the rules unless there is a threat of arrest for failing to follow them.

He said that he did not serve.

His ilk were the ones spitting on the Vietnam returnees, heros.

Thank you, it was the way I was raised, it stuck.

This is the thing I do not understand. There are some basic rules of politeness and respect that we should follow. They are not laws for civilians, but that does not mean we should ignore them. Why is the Alt Right so against them? And they are laws for members of the military, but the supposed veterans have never heard of them? All my family and friends who served know this stuff like second nature.

The rule applies to active duty soldiers, cabron.

The veteran is not under the UCMJ.

Did you spit on the Vietnam returnees, cabron?

Then you will be happy to know that you support violations of the constitution.

Civil disobedience is complex. Its whole point is to break the laws, to be caught, and punished. So if this is civil disobedience, he has certainly gotten what he wants.

Is civil disobedience a violation of the Constitution? Sometimes, but sometimes not. Disobeying an unconstitutional law is civil disobedience, a violation of the law, and also constitutional.

Do I support civil disobedience? It certainly is better than violence. But I would have to know what you are protesting, before I know whether I support it.

Here’s the thing, cabron. The veteran was showing his respect for the flag that your ilk burns, spits on.
