Corona Virus Peak Watch Thread

Usually none since I stay on my rural property.

Thanks for the derail. Why didn't you comment about my post instead of taking everyone on this little trip into weeds? Do you still think COVID-19 is a fake virus? A bioweapon developed by the Chinese and released upon the US?

I have never said the virus itself is "fake". I have said the response is a complete hoax. Get the difference?

For China to have more fatalities than the USA, they would have to be covering up 96% of their deaths. There would have to be overflowing hospitals that no one knows about. It really could not be happening.

The source of viruses goes back to before humans existed, so could not be China. China appears to be where Covid-19 crossed over into the human population, but its source is somewhere in prehistory.

trump has failed. It is time to accept that and move on.

I see our expert virologist has checked in this morning

Good morning Cliff

We are still on the rise.

We have not seen the first significant peak yet.

Instead, we keep blowing away old milestones and setting new ones.

Too bad we don't have better leadership.

Really bad.

The source of the virus from China is China. They lied about the source and their number of fatalities. They would not share data with our health professionals that might have mitigated their virus from China. They nailed shut the doors of those with the virus from China They did not stop flights out of China and the virus from China spread around the world.

China must be held accountable for the hundreds of thousands of deaths and the economic loss around the world.

Count on the far left loon apologists to defend China and falsely blame it on our great president whose closure of flights from China saved countless lives.

The president is following the advice of the health professionals and the states are opening their economies following the guidelines.

Well, some states are spiking case numbers.

The question is why. The problem with using case numbers as a metric is that the *rate of testing* hasn’t been consistent over time [Trump’s fault, yes we know]. For example, what would the case counts look like if we were testing at the same rate back in April?

Or better yet, in December? I’m confident the results would be pretty surprising.

At any rate, the clock is ticking. FL numbers have been up long enough for *wide spread* overwhelming of their healthcare apparatus. Surely by the end of the week these case numbers need to be converting over to hospital overload and deaths.

If not, well. Team Panic will think of something.

Hello Dutch Uncle,

All good advice not being followed by Trump despite the false claims of idiots, anti-Americans and liars.

Thanks.

It's War.

And it is a war not of our choosing. Very similar to WWII and the Pearl Harbor Attack.

The Japanese decided to hit us first with a sucker punch. They knocked us down. It took a long time to get back up again. They wiped out much of our Pacific Navy. Then they went on a South Pacific rampage.

We had no way to fight effectively at first. We had to rebuild our fighting forces. We needed time.

We had to wait it out and make do with what we had until we could acquire more weapons.

We had to ration everything and make do with less, make do with big impositions on every day life.

You couldn't buy gasoline or tires without a ration coupon. Copper was in such short supply we actually made steel pennies (now collector's items.)

Then as now, people planted Victory Gardens. Any food we didn't need to sell in groceries could be used to support our troops overseas.

I find it highly unpatriotic for anyone to selfishly claim they should not have to wear a mask because it is their personal right to be foolish.

I find it highly unpatriotic for anyone to post this:

It is not panic to recognize that by wearing masks and keeping distance we can more effectively fight the spread of the virus.

Looking only at the States which are currently spiking is looking two weeks in the past.

Everybody needs to get up to speed and realize that what we do now will not be seen until two weeks in the future.

It's not like you can see alarming numbers and then back up in time to do things differently.

If you want to see panic look between the president's ears as he sees his chances of a second term slip sliding away:

And the longer voters are scared/depressed/locked down the better the chances of that.

We get it.

Hospitalizations trails 2-3 weeks following confirmed infections. So expect to see hospitals overwhelmed and the daily death count back up to ~2,000/day in about 2 weeks or so.

Hello Darth,

And the longer voters are scared/depressed/locked down the better the chances of that.

We get it.

Nobody needs to feel any of that.

Dealing with the virus is unrelated to the election. The smart measures called for and taken by most people would have to be done regardless of politics.

Concern, determination and wise measures are the proper approach.

Well, a great many voters are feeling the results of mitigation pretty keenly.

The clock is ticking. Case numbers have been up long enough in several states for ‘certain results’ to start occurring.

If they start to get they idea they are being played...

Everybody is affected by the war on the bug.

Any thoughts that an inconvenience is too much to ask are dark, negative, anti-social, anti-America thoughts.
