It made the Soviet Leadership spend money they didn't have to keep up in the arms race which caused their already failing economic system to completely collapse. The Russian people were willing to tolerate a lot from their cruel totalitarian leadership when the alternative was getting sent to the death camps in the Gulag Archipelago or ending up like the Kulaks in the Ukraine during the Holodomor.

Any bill that reaches the presidents desk is already approved by both house and senate. He has the power to veto, which he hasn't. Every dollar of deficit is on his shoulders

what does that have to do with the fact the demmycunts wanted to spend far more and were stopped BECAUSE they couldn't get the Republicans in the senate or the president to agree........you aren't the party of fiscal responsibility, you are the party of perpetual petulance......

This is only about the trillions of dollars that Trump has signed into law, and nothing else. Trump will end his 4 years presidency with a larger deficit than Obama did in 8 years. That is a fact

The thing is I do know about it, show me where Gorbachev called for a multiparty election and the dissolution of the Soviet Union. The assertion that the Soviet Union didn't collapse due to overspending on their military under a failed centralized state controlled economic system is simply ahistorical.
