So much of the outrage I see today is no better than the out of control woman, she who feels the need to make her unhappiness known by destroying, first on the target list being the ego of the man who loves her...

If we make the US Dollar worthless, it will no longer be the de-facto world standard. The world will have to find a new standard. We get paid to borrow money, because we absolutely will service our loans in US dollars. If we stop that, the US Dollar is worthless.

Oh, and China will definitely strike back if we nuke Beijing. The threat that we would nuke Beijing if they nuke America is gone after we nuke Beijing. They literally have nothing to lose.

Surprisingly, I agree with Dark Soul. Can you imagine if we did nothing for the first month of the pandemic? Or practically nothing? Imagine a world where we only did 472 tests for Covid-19 in the first month, which is practically nothing. There would be over 60,000 Americans dead, and we would be entering a severe depression.

But screaming impotently how unfair the world is, is not doing something. It makes you look weak and stupid.

India's linga franca is English. They use English common law. They have some of the world's best technical universities. I could go on and on, but it is hard to see why they are not lightyears ahead of China, rather than the reverse being true.

So why has China won? I would argue that it is the Cultural Revolution. It at first destroyed China, but now has Chinese in fear of corruption. Some corruption is acceptable, but too much and it means death. It is not limited to the private sector. If anything, they will go after party officials with more gusto.

Meanwhile, India is a corrupt mess. There is absolutely no fear of being caught being corrupt.

American corruption is more subtle. Many Americans have a sense of entitlement that the world owes them.

NYC is the financial capital of the USA, and even the rest of the world. It is the one place that money enters or leaves the USA. If we lose NYC, we lose our economy. Maybe you can trade moonshine like in the old days, but I doubt you can build a modern economy on that.

The subways are the best they have been in decades. I remember the subways of the late 1970's, early 1980's, and they were beautiful with their graffiti, but a complete mess. NYC was on the verge of collapse. Right now, NYC has a crime rate that is extremely low, and a relatively clean, expanding subway system. Water Tunnel #3, the largest non-military project in America is coming in under budget, and ahead of schedule. NYC is working to keep itself going.

And we should all be grateful to NYC for doing that. We need NYC.

Great situation to be in? The whole world's economy came crashing down because the Chinese allowed this virus to contaminate and kill nearly every nation's grandfathers, grandmothers, fathers and mothers, doctors, etc. That's a "great situation to be in"? Seriously?

I don't know about you, but the whole world should be pissed at China. If they wouldn't have tried to cover this China virus up until it spread half way around the world, we might have had a better chance of containing it and had a head start on identifying and developing tests. I blame China and the WHO for the spread of this virus.

Holding China responsible would not bring on a depression, much less a "dark ages." The only way this country would fall is if you liberals take over and suck our (financial) resources dry.
Losing China as a trading partner won't happen, but it's high time we evened the advantage China has over us with tariffs.
