When I go to other parts of the country, one of the first things I notice is how soft the Whites are compared to where I grew up.
My neighborhood was mostly Bronx Italians, and Bronx Irish.
We fist fought for fun.
I remember after Putnam Lake, NY (Brewster) schools went to a neighboring Carmel, NY Football game, the fist fights & clubs & bats came out against our people.
So, the next day 30 kids in cars from Putnam Lake, went to Carmel to beat them up.
I sort of believe this. I was up with college buddies staying with a rich friend who live on Polly Park in White plains.
We went maybe 7 of us to a less toney neighborhood bar. Next thing I knew a friend was getting beat up outside, we all rush out
and have a fucking fist fight. We rarely ever did that, but the one time I'm around there, it happens.
The lucky thing is one of my buddies was a running back for the college football team, and he was a chizzeled brother
and looked bad ass. There was a slight break in the action and one of the New York "enemy? I guess I call them?" confronted
Duane, and dwayne looked him in the eye and said. "man, I'm gonna mess you up" The other guy said, "I know"
and walked away.
That pretty much ended that. The funny of it was Duane from our "southern group" was actually from Syracuse.
So, I also hung our in near that hockey arena and got fleeced by some people, and bought a fake diamond in front of Macy's
Basically, we were soft college suckers and New York beat our asses. But our hosts were Italian, but rich brats whose dad's made a
killing in construction, but raised soft kids. The kind of rich with elevators in the house and carving off filets like hamburger.
