Young doctors being asked to play God

I hate to use this, but it's kind of an analogy.
If a Soldier gets killed on the Battlefield, the fight continues. If a Soldier is wounded on the Battlefield, it takes a couple of other Soldiers to tend to him.

So, when I mention 'body count', I'm talking about 'Dead People'. They're not a problem anymore.
The problem is the 'wounded' (infected) that are using up a huge amount of resources and grinding the Economy to a halt.

They are BOTH bad, but which is worse ... Elderly people with underlying conditions dying ... or infected people consuming all of the country's resources?

Are you offering to put a price on American lives? "Death panels"? Accountants in charge of medical decisions? I know some of that goes on now and I disagree with it.

I'm not on the Front Lines. I'm safely holed up in some small town, sitting behind a computer screen.
But 'somebody' is faced with the task of making decisions about who gets ventilators, who gets bed space, and who gets service.

Naturally, we all hope everyone that needs a ventilator will get one, everybody gets a Test that wants one, and this whole thing will be over by Easter ... but I'm not counting on that.

Me too! Agreed on the decisions and desires...and it doesn't matter if it's a 1000 patients with 100 ventilators or 100 patients with 10 ventilators, the decisions will have to be made. Great topic for an ethics class. :)

... or better yet. 100 Patients with 99 Ventilators!

Since I'm retired military and you are the wannabe, I agree that you'd shit your pants and become a liability in the real thing.

I'm yet to see any verifiable proof of that claim, boy. I keep reading where you make that claim yet nothing but 'because I said so' is coming out of your mouth.

At your age, you likely shit your pants daily and don't know it until you change clothes.

Whining is a matter of perspective, but they aren't trained for combat triage. Thanks for backpedaling on your previous claim. Understandable since you didn't have a clue on what Combat Triage was until I posted it.

I've forgotten more about triage than you'll ever learn, Gomer Pyle.

No proof would be good enough for a habitual liar and coward like yourself.

The fact remains the only proof anyone has on an anonymous forum is their posts. They can make all the claims they want, but it's the summation of their posts which define who they are. You continue to define yourself as I asserted, sir.

All those paintball welts, eh? LOL

Ever hear of a "certificate of need"? You need to get permission from GovCo to build a hospital or even purchase certain equipment. A doctor or group of doctors has to prove to the government that these things are needed. The profit motive that allows competition to increase supply and drive costs down isn't allowed. You and your libs friends wanted GovCo control, and you got it.
