Death by Corona numbers explode to 61

It is a universal political tactic going back centuries.

Rahm Emanuel: "You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before."

By the way, you're backslapping the biggest, lying, leftist asshole on the forum. ;)

They’re amongst the few that try and keep it in perspective.

Can you give an example of those taking it out of perspective other than those calling it a hoax? As I posted earlier the media had many more stories about swine flu or h1n1 than corona.

The issue is the *lack of* perspective.

The COVID epidemic is just the latest in a series of them in the past decade plus. I can’t think of a single reason why it shouldn’t be compared to the others.

I work in healthcare and I vaguely remember the H1N1 outbreak.

If you worked in healthcare you would have known that there existed a vaccine, a large number of the population had an immunity gained from prior similar virus strains, and it wasn't a total mystery, all features not present with the COVID-19

Like comparing apples and oranges

I see no reason not to, but does that make the risk to you or me any less serious because fewer people were infected or died? What point is being made by comparing it when nobody is disputing those numbers?

Exactly, like buying votes.

Why does Trump need to deflect? Did he cause this calamity? Why does the media need to make it seem like Trump isn't doing far more than his predecessors did in far less time when they confronted similar epidemics? Why do leftist have to lie and take Fauci's comments out of context to promote a false narrative intended to instill fear in the American people?

No, he didn't need to and obviously did not cause it. But he panicked because he thought it would hurt his election and started with the stupid statements that it was a hoax and that the 15 cases would soon be 0. Why did he need to lie and make up stuff he knows nothing about.

Now, he jumps in front of the issue and takes extreme measures to show he is concerned and protect the people. I don't know anything more he could do now, but his original statements convinced the Trump supporters there was nothing to worry about and they are sticking with that story even though Trump has changed his tune.

That was a sock to the jaw.

You left out the part where H1N1 preferred younger victims instead of 85 year olds with underlying issues, otherwise your point is well taken.

You must feel dumb. This thread should be a sticky recording the coffins pile up at your door.

After the successive fiascos [Kavanaugh, Mullet, Ukraine] you and your lemming comrades got sucked into, I wouldn’t talk about anyone being ‘dumb’.

Maybe you finally got Darth, finally.

Or not.
