I wouldn't even call it a situation.
The hope for this not being a pandemic is quickly fading. There is still some hope, but chances are that this is a pandemic already, and it will be announced as such in a few months(or scarier still a few weeks).
It is an infectious disease, so one person having it is significant. One person has it, then thousand, then a million, then a billion. And it is in its quick evolution phase. It could suddenly become more deadly, or more infectious.
These are real problems that we should be spending real money on solving. Even if Coronavirus does not go big, there will be a future disease that will go big. It is important to fight these diseases with intelligent, educated scientists... All the things the Alt Right hates.

No one thinks this virus is a "nothing burger," Frank. It is killing people, lots of people in other countries. We, so far, have kept it somewhat contained, but no one can see into the future.
Myself, I am not concerned at all yet, my state hasn't had any confirmed cases and I live out in the "sticks," pretty far from any major cities.
You say Trump instructs us that this is a "nothing burger," yet he is doing everything in his power to keep it from spreading. Of course, you have nothing but criticism.
But seriously, what should he say? Should he say we all should panic and not go on with our daily lives? Tell us Frank, you're so critical of every move Trump makes, what should he tell us about this virus?

Best thing Trump could do about containment of the virus...and several other problems we face here...would be to actually help MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN...
...which he could easily assist happening by resigning.

We should not panic.
As for what he (Trump) should do is...he should shut the fuck up and allow people who know what they are doing...do the talking.
And if possible (I doubt it is) allow them to say what they have to say without all those preamble remarks pretending they think he (Trump) is something less than a fat bag of shit.
That is what I think he should do.
