Then the Senate Trial will show America what sycophants the Republicans are, the will refuse to convict and Democrats kill it in 2020. That's my best guess, but its a lot of time between here and there. You already said the clear next thing that will happen.

You are using your wishes and hopes instead of logic to produce your belief of what is real.

It is looking more and more likely that impeachment will be before Christmas, but even if your "logic" is correct (its not) they would have already pushed too far to back down now, the political price of backing out is higher than that of moving forward. I do not overestimate the Democrats in Congress, they are just as pathetic and weak as the Republicans and will only do what is in the benefit of their reelection, if they back down now, the liberals will be pissed. You are very likely getting impeachment before Christmas, but even if it is in the new year, it will still happen. Political reality demands it, as to the facts.... When those two things align, it almost always happens.

You may be right that they are too far down the tracks to turn back. They may very well vote articles of impeachment out of the House of Representatives. But, as I said, they are fucking over their Senate candidates like Lie A Watha Warren
