Video games don’t cause violent crime

Yeah it's a crock of of shit, like the lack of prays in our schools cause violence too?!!

Kevin McCarthy blamed violent video games for mass shootings over the weekend, and Donald Trump did the same at Monday’s press conference singling out “the gruesome video games that are now commonplace” to blame for creating “a culture that celebrates violence.”

This is a bit rich coming from a man who ran on a promise to “bomb the shit out of ’em” and has repeatedly floated the idea of pardons for accused war criminals.

It also flies in the face of the basic reality that the United States has a much higher murder rate than any other rich country, even though video games are widely available in Europe and Japan.

Trump is just saying this because he wants to get the heat off himself. He's part of the problem.

I use to play Mortal Kombat games and during those same times, I rescued a dragonfly from drowning and took in a baby bird that was injured. I've seen worse games from other countries. In online games, they can get just sick. They still don't have all these gun issues in their countries.

Well this is all good to know.
Violent sources of speech & actions don't influence or beget violent speech or actions of others.
How lovely.
People can finally start blaming themselves and not Trump

Video games and guns do not have any ability to kill. People kill.

Neither does rap music

We all know video games are fictional. When Trump talks, stupid people take him seriously.

You're really reaching now. LOL  You missed the entire principle of the comparison.
Words and actions are words and actions. Fictional or non-fictional characters, the scenario is the same.

Video games are cartoons and everyone who plays them knows they are fictional depictions created entirely for entertainment value.

When Trump and his supporters holler about Mexican rapists, invasions of brown people, and illegal aliens from shithole countries, you Trump supporters actually believe him and think of these brown people from shithole countries as an existential threat to our nation.

Well your comparison is shallow and ignorant. Video games are entertainment. We all know that the bad guys in the games aren't real. However, Trump is telling people that there is an invasion of rapists going on. He also celebrates violence against protesters and reporters. This is a "president" who is telling people violence is alright to use against people you don't like and that we're being invaded by people you should consider your enemy.

In psychology, desensitization is a treatment or process that diminishes emotional responsiveness to a negative, aversive or positive stimulus after repeated exposure to it.

Then you agree with and support "Mad" Maxine in her hatred of fellow Americans?

“If you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them! And you tell them that they are not welcome, anymore, anywhere.”

Maybe you can show us the quotes from Trump "telling people violence is alright to use against people you don't like." We'll wait...

Well, let's see what the psychologists have to say about desensitization as it relates to long-term use of video games:

"Researchers in Germany used functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) on long-term players of violent video games and found that they had the same neural response to emotionally provocative images as non-gamers. This finding suggests that empathy is not blunted by playing such games long-term."

Trump is just saying this because he wants to get the heat off himself. He's part of the problem.

Yes, he is. Or more specificially, his nationalist, xenophobic rhetoric.

Isn't it interesting that other countries have the same video games, violent movies, and people with mental illness -- yet *they* don't have hundreds of citizens being killed in mass shootings every year? I wonder what the difference is?

This is like when Saudis attacked on 911,so we invaded Iraq

No, we engaged in Afghanistan to stop terrorists there from plotting more 911’s.
Osama is sleeping with the fishes now and Iraq no longer has a monster throwing people off roofs and there are free elections there.

Are you drunk?

So you don't know about Bush attacking Iraq?
