I suppose we all have life-experiences to draw on, and I think I know what a liar sounds like - Mr Trump never sounds sincere or honest, not ever, whereas this fellow sounds as if he's sorry for his crimes, which makes him believable. I'm afraid you live in a culture made out of commercials!
