It’s not an either/or thing. You like to say how common things like forgetting the details surround an incident are. Well, mistaken identity is hardly unheard of.

Ford is very plausibly just wrong. In that case both are telling the truth. That explains just about everything in fact.

There’s an important distinction though.

When people say Ford was ‘credible’ usually what they mean is *she* seemed credible. The way she comported herself, her affect etc.

Her account is NOT credible. You have to accept that she can’t remember details. Yes, that happens, but then you’re asked to believe her when zero people who were supposed to be either recalled it or even recalled being there when it happened.

Then you put that up against a man who has absolutely no prior record of such behavior; in spite of the fact he has been surrounded by young interns, clerical women and etc—for decades.

I have absolutely no problem maintaining that Kavanaugh remains an exceptional man regardless of how credible Ford *seemed*.

And most reasonable people apparently agree.
