"Trump claims picture ID is required to buy groceries"

Us a credit card, fraud protection limits your exposure to $50 and most of the issuers cap it at zero as policy and branding. Fraud is no issue for smart consumers.
It's a big problem, but just for the banks.
Why have to worry about going through the fraud protection process? It's no fun...
And easy to avoid by simply asking for ID when a card is used....takes 2 seconds....

I haven't been asked for my ID in a grocery store for years and years and years. But I am sure all the Trumpsters are everyday. Hey you guys need to sell a clip for your MAGA hats you can just clip your ID to your hat. Then you can shop and safely push the cart without having to whip your ID's out on those pesky Kroger employees drifting around the store demanding ID's. This si so unbelievably stupid. But exactly what I expected from Trumpsters soon as I heard him say it.

<attention whore crumbs>Toxic, I'm so sorry that you're such a sanctimonious idiot. Most credit card fraud takes place online. I've had to have my card frozen four times in the last 10 years due to unauthorized use -- all of it online. One morning I logged in to find that when I was sleeping I had booked three hotels in Europe and a flight from NYC to London. Another morning I discovered that I had made small purchases in three hotel gift shops in three different U.S. cities hundreds of miles apart.... a hacker testing to see if my card info was valid. A 5 minute call to Capital One erased all that, and I had a new card overnighted at no expense. As Micawber advised, I check my statement every day, pay it off in full every month, and have no worries. BTW, both of us had our credit frozen after that Experian hack last year. And still... we are never asked for ID when making purchases in person.

You're just arguing to get attention, as always, with no clue what you're talking about, as always. Trump lied, and you're going to defend it until your fingers fall off. Have fun with that. </attention whore crumbs>

And that's fine. But many stores ask...and should. There's nothing wrong with that. EBT cards have photos for a reason, btw. Why would it be a problem to ask for ID with a card? I appreciate it when they do...
Our Kroger employees don't drift around asking for ID...that's just silly. Haven't seen any MAGA hats, so there goes your brilliant suggestion...sorry;)

Pretending you have to present your picture ID when you buy groceries is silly too. But whatever, you are in a cult and Trump is the deity. Keep the faith.

I know, right? Occasionally Mr. Owl will ask why I'm interested in political discussion boards like this. Then I show him some of the comments from here -- like from this very thread even -- and he just laughs and says "If I hadn't seen that myself I would think it was a comedian making it up." He thinks the Trumpanzees' defense of their Glorious Apricot Asshole is a psychological defense mechanism because admitting that they made a horrible mistake is too painful to face.

You don't always have to...sometimes you do. That was easy...
Nothing to do with a cult...more to do with where you shop;)

rather more widespread than whether Trump knows how to buy groceries, don't you think?......

How can Trump's astounding ignorance about that be "widespread?"

You seem to be confusing things. Trump's lack of knowledge is specific to Trump, until he actually says it - then his supporters will jump through hoops trying to explain what he "meant."

And make up false narratives like we've seen here with the Bimbos For Bozo bunch.

The very idea of Trump knowing anything about buying groceries from personal experience is so ludicrous that only a Trumpanzee could believe it.

only a handful of the most violent of those afflicted with TDS think that comments about grocery stores matter.......you should spend your time seeking help instead of posting on boards........

the funny part is, someone will add this to the list of Trump's "lies" and will think they have provided society a meaningful service.........

My advice is sound. I suggest you take it. If someone raids your checking accounts and steals 10 grand, you are fucked.
Someone does that to your credit card account(s), you are saved, that simple. As Owl indicated, the fraud reporting is
damn ez, considering the money involved.

Please read and govern your actions accordingly. By way of disclosure, I'm an industry expert.
This is not intended to be legal advice and not to be taken as such. By all means go ahead and be stupid.
But now its all on you.

Heh, good takedown of ignorance. Our words are wasted on that one though. Unfortunately I've known Toxic TOP for years and this is her schtick -- butt into a topic that she knows nothing about, issue sanctimonious self-righteous commands to others, then when confronted she will double down. If confronted by more than two ppl, suddenly she has to go run errands. I.e., retreat to social media and re-post Breitbart and Infowars stories about brown ppl behaving badly.

You'd think that an alleged billionaire like Trump could afford better minions, wouldn't you?

I don't need your "expert advice", and not sure why you are "offering"... (I had an issue with a stolen personal check...I was by no means "fu....d", so you may not be That much of an expert when it comes to this type of thing.) I prefer to avoid having to deal with an incident of fraud. shouldn't we all? Checking ID when using a card is easy enough to do and shouldn't be problem if the card is yours...
You'll have to explain what you mean "by all means go ahead and be stupid"....
(PS...Fowl doesn't know me, so pay no attention to her claims;)

We never use checks any longer. In fact all our cards are protected by RFID cases and on the back of every card we have check ID. Never have had a problem. and the new cards are more secure than ever.

The corporate state would like to get back to the founder's vision wherein only white males of the aristocracy have any representation in our "democracy".

“[A social division exists] between the rich and the poor, the laborious and the idle, the learned and the ignorant. … Nothing, but force, and power and strength can restrain [the latter].” —John Adams in a letter to Thomas Jefferson (1787)

Why am I offering? Because I am a good person and when feasible I try and help people for no reason.
No skin off my nose if you insist on dumb. Just read that article I posted. Goes into greater detail.
The article did put it succinctly, your credit card fraud, the bank is recouping its money, your debit card fraud, you are recouping your money.

My 30 years industry experience from coding consumer fraud to trial litigation of bank negligence probably trumps your one anecdote. ;)

It's a mindbender reading these posts and actually see Trumpkins attempting to rationalize Trump saying people need a photo ID to buy groceries

How blind to their own partisanship can a person be?

Ok, perhaps someone will benefit from you help and you can get your good deed points for the day, since you seem to be focused on that being your intent here. I prefer to avoid situations where fraud may occur. We watch our accounts very closely to avoid any hacking... I like the idea of asking for ID with a credit card purchase. I like the idea of Photo ID for EBT cards. I like Photo ID to be required for voting. Photo ID is required to get into schools now. I like that. Everyone should have a Photo ID...Simple.
(Does your 30 years industry experience teach you how to deal with people, a well as how to deal with fraud and litigation? Doesn't seem to be the case...;)
(I'm going to start a thread on fraud and hacking and doxxing and cyber-stalking and the like. I do hope you'll drop by to offer kinder, gentler legal advice...)
