OK tell me why the Tenn killer shouldn't

Unfortunately, appeals can take a long time. We can't deny them due process because we think he is "without a doubt guilty." If we don't think everybody we convict is guilty they should not be convicted.

I think he should be in jail and we should question him like crazy. I thing psychiatrists should go through whatever made him nutty. I see that as more valuable than low ass revenge.

It's not just libs, there are Libertarians and even conservatives who are anti death penalty.

My belief is if we are going to have the death penalty then it should be used on people like this. But you have to have a process, even for someone like this.

Probably not; yet, you have no proof he shot anybody except for what you read or saw on television. There are lot of examples where we jumped to conclusions (the guard at the Atlanta Olympics).
 
In my state, there is a bi-partisan effort underway to eliminate the death penalty. Among other reasons, it's the practical thing to do. Executing someone requires far more money and resources than life sentences without the possibility of parole.

The, "They will never kill anyone again," bit is old and worn out. I think the last person executed in the U.S. was 83 years old. Not much of a threat.

Executing someone is fairly simple and cheap. It's the legal gymnastics to get there that are expensive. Life without parole still leaves the possibility of escape. And, historically, that has a pretty good chance of more homicides. And that "last person executed" was 61 when sentenced to death.

Considering that there can be decades between sentencing and execution, why would it be any more of a deterrent than life without parole?
