His schizophrenia (seemingly he has it) will likely result in him getting life without parole instead of electrocution (TN's method) to avoid it being overturned on appeal. Lifers appeals court don't pay attention to. He checks a couple of the capital murder boxes though for TN--he killed 3 or more people and he put two or more lives in danger beyond his target, either of which is enough.

Because he is entitled to a trial and appeals. Shouldn't we make sure the person we execute is the person who committed the crime?

Many people philosophically oppose the DP on principle, simpleton. It's nothing you're capable of comprehending.

How many appeals did Timothy McVeigh get?

Are you saying there's a chance this guy didn't do it?

He is entitled to a trial as well as an appeal. But those who are without a doubt guilty of a crime like this should be tried, appealed, and executed within a year or so. If we did that to all that apply, we'd have a LOT less criminals in jail costing a LOT of money to the taxpayer.

Don't we have to find him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt? You only know what you have seen on the media. You didn't see him shoot anybody. Although the evidence looks very strong we can't convict somebody based on news reports.

You must have been one of the crybaby pussies there!

I never said it was a deterrent... It's punishment!

No. That's not what you said. You said it was done, knowing the consequences. That's why I pointed out that it isn't a deterrent. Semantics. The point is that the death penalty doesn't work. It didn't deter the schizophrenic guy. It might have even inspired him, not unlike the way people commit suicide by cop.
