I really don't understand why so many on the left are emphasizing Trumps inexperience and the utter incompetence, yet this incompetent old man won against someone who knows our political scene inside and out, is by all liberal accounts vastly more qualified, has a better grip on reality, has resources and political capital like no other, yet failed to win an election...not once, but twice. Once against a mostly unknown and inexperienced political starter, once against an old political outsider.
Why the hell does the left not do some soul searching, instead of blaming Trump voters or Trump?

Because then they would have to examine the repugnance of their positions and the unpopularity of their policies.

I can chew gum & walk at the same time. I do blame Trump voters, for a lot.

But I get Hillary's flaws, too. I'm not here to defend her. I did not vote for her.

Trump voters need to learn from this though. There were WAY better options in the primaries. Kasich would have been a good if not great President. People need to be more discerning than just "this guy's an outsider - he'll shake things up!" He's a fool, and completely incompetent.

Hillary was damaged whether justified or not, and Trump had a slick marketing package from The Apprentice and his books that we now know were ghost written and the author regrets shining this turd. He enticed people with his being different which he is in mannerism but as far as policies, he doesn't give a damn about the little people, you only count if you are a person who can enrich Trump.

Trump truly does not care about people. He only cares about Trump.

I think more on the right understand what he's about, but as an editorial in the NYT spoke about a few months back - he ticks liberals off, and that's enough for many conservatives.

A fool and completely incompetent can win, that is the issue here. I could care less who you voted for, I am asking a general question. Blame Trump, blame the people who support him, but what about Hillary? She couldn't win against Trump, she would have never won against any of the other former R candidates. Enough with the blaming Trump or the voters, time to get down to who really is to blame. We owe it to the American people.

Like I said - I can blame both. I have lambasted Hillary's campaign plenty on this board. She blew it. She had no message, and spent most of the time trying to run out the clock. She also could have handled issues like the email scandal much more head-on and gotten them off the table earlier.

She ran a terrible campaign. That doesn't get Trump voters off the hook.

Then it should have been even easier for someone with all the political resources available to her to use this to her advantage.

Trump was smart enough to market the farce, while Hillary roped herself off to not be be touched, spoke from a pedestal and continued insulting people, both literally and figuratively. Again,

Trump at least had his ear to the average American and was able to capitalize on it. Don't dismiss the Trump voters, because they have actual grievances. I don't believe for a minute that the average Trump voter is Republican, but also disgruntled and dissatisfied Democrats, and last but not least Independents.
What is the message that Trump so cleverly received and capitalized on? Why do Democrats fail to listen but are instead trying to please the more and more radical left? America doesn't consist of socialists, Antifa and race mongers. America is made up of people who want to earn a living, feed their families and enjoy whatever past time they may have, while living in peace and relative security.
So when the elite...Hollywood included... preached how the average Joe should vote and live, Trump listened. The left didn't even hear them speak.
