Biden got elected, with a majority of the vote, and no November Surprise vote suppression. trump needed all the stars to align, including foreign interference, to not even get a majority of the vote, but to win in 2016.

The rough numbers in 2016 was that trump got 46% of the vote. That would have been 40% of the vote, had it not been the bizarre November Surprise investigation that cleared Clinton immediately after the election, which led to many Clinton voters not voting. About half of those really did not like trump, but voted for him because they hated Clinton more, which leaves trump with about 20% of the vote.

Even the 46% of the vote puts trump at Dukakis levels of support. The more realistic 40% of the vote puts him at Mondale levels of support.
