You will thank him

We could start with higher insurance costs on shipping that moves in that area...

Insurance rates have not been a problem, because the free flow of shipping has almost never been a problem....it is now only because the Empire idiotically attacked Iran.

Its fiction.
You're wrong.

Bullshit. I just proved insurance rates ARE a problem for shipping in the Persian Gulf and Red Sea and have been for over a decade.

None of those links dispute what I said....over many decades insurance costs for shipping in the region have not been a problem, because shipping has rarely been attacked.

It is interesting that I am getting many reports that the runners of Empire simply blew off Irans promise to shut down the straights if attacked.

Hubris is how empires tend to die.

Insurance costs for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, between the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, have surged over 60% since the Israel-Iran conflict began, YemenOnline reports, citing Financial Times. According to U.S.-based Marsh & McLennan Companies Inc., the cost of hull and machinery insurance has increased from 0.125% to about 0.2% of a vessel’s value, raising premiums on a $100 million ship from $125,000 to $200,000.

Insurance rates have generally been minimal.

So? The earlier links I provided go all the way back to 2018 and show that rates have continually risen far faster, doubling in some cases overnight, for shipping the Persian Gulf and Red Sea. This latest round of war with Iran is not some isolated thing in terms of maritime insurance rates.
