In 2019, Ronald Greene died of a vehicle collision during a high speed chase with Louisiana State Police........according to all the police reports. That is, until dashcam and body cam footage revealed those reports to be false. Ronald Greene was beaten and dragged by those State Police and then LSP proceeded to cover up the death at their hands with a conspiracy to hide their murder. The federal DOJ launched an investigation in to the murder of Ronald Greene, but just 4 days ago the DOJ decided to not charge any of the government agents with any wrongdoing while simultaneously stating that Lousiana State Police carried on a consistent and intentional deprivation of civil rights against the citizenry of Louisiana.................

In other words, the federal government does not give a fuck if your government murders you, they will tacitly approve of it.

For the most part, murder is not against federal law. It is mostly a state thing. This is the difficult thing that the DOJ keeps having to explain to people. If Louisiana refuses to enforce their murder laws, there is not much the DOJ can do about it.

cross state lines and kill someone, the feds will step in if the state refuses. But this isn't even about the murder charge so much as it is about the obvious violation of civil rights

Given the current political situation, we have to lower our expectations for expanding federal civil rights laws. At this point, we should be trying to defend the weak laws we already have. If you are serious about expanding federal civil rights laws, then vote against Republicans.
