Jake Sherman, the founder of Punchbowl News, flagged the NBC poll on Sunday morning.

"NBC POLL. And one year before the 2026 midterm elections, Democrats lead Republicans in the fight for Congress by 8 points, 50%-42%, the largest lead for either party on the congressional ballot in the NBC News poll since the 2018 midterms," he wrote.

Conservative strategist Brendan Buck simply wrote, "Yikes" on social media.

A popular "policy wonk" called Maine said, "New NBC Poll just adds to growing sentiment: - Trump is cooking Republicans. - Americans blame GOP for shutdown. - Americans want Dems to takeover Congress."


In sharing the poll, NBC Politics said there is an opening for Dems.


"In a new NBC News poll, nearly two-thirds of voters say Trump hasn't met their expectations on the economy, giving Democrats an opening in the midterm elections," the outlet wrote.

According to NBC's Sahil Kapur's analysis, "Who do voters say is more to blame for the government shutdown? • 52% blame Trump/Republicans • 42% blame Democrats."

Well we all know MAGAS like Stone come out and say they don't believe in polls and laugh at them UNLESS it is a poll showing them something they like.
YEP if they like it then the polls are factual and if it shows them something they don't like then the polls are garbage not to be believed.
 
You know,....making America great again has really been a great experience for us all. Great,...just great. my only complaint is that it should have been done much sooner. Other than that everything has just been great,....nobodys ever seen anything like it in fact. It was really great seeing the Mac of all Mac daddies , PRESIDENT Donald J Trump take Washington not once,......BUT TWICE. :cool:

Raw Story found a pretty biased NBC poll (over polls Democrats, women, and college educated to start with). Then when you scroll down to their long term findings (starting about pg. 8), the Democrats and Left are taking a proverbial beating in their polling. On pg. 11, their polling shows Republicans and Democrats in a dead heat for congressional control.

On pg. 12, they find more opposition to Trump than Republicans in general although that margin is almost within the error range of the poll.

If you peruse pg. 14, their long term trends show Republicans gaining a massive lead on Democrats on just about every issue as well since Trump took office with the exception of "healthcare."

On the whole, the poll Raw Story cherry picked shows the opposite of what their writer claims. I guess that's to be expected of a far Leftist news source however.

I look at this through a business perspective. When I saw the headline with the “Yikes” and noticed the source was Raw Story, I just kind of smiled. It reminded me of when sites like Breitbart used to run pieces titled “Shocking New Poll: Black Voters Support Trump at 35%.”

Once you peeled back the onion it was clear they cherry picked data, stripped out the context, and spun it to fit their narrative. Sites like Raw Story and Breitbart exist to feed red meat to their readers because that’s what draws clicks.

Maybe read the actual data rather than take Raw Story's word for it. On crime they list Republicans as up 22 points over Democrats (pg. 14 Q 13). Republicans up 18 points on immigration (same page). Economy as Republicans up by 21 in September but even in October (likely due to the shutdown) (same page).

Respondents blamed the following for the shutdown: Democrats 42, Republicans 25, Trump 24.

On pg 21, respondents broke down this way on personal positions:

No Kings 43
MAGA 30
Union member 27
Know a transgender 27

What does that tell you about the respondents?

In all 23 pages of the actual poll there was NOTHING on Ukraine whatsoever (the Raw Story one).

I see you've now switched to another poll, so let me see if I can find that one.

Ah! The Independent (a UK source on the Left), also lists an ABC / Ipsos poll but doesn't link it. So there's no way to verify what they're claiming with that one. Mostly they use the same poll I just parsed through above, the NBC / Hartford poll.
