The BBC, quite rightly, realised that the "new series", produced 25 years after the original had finished and completely devoid of the original cast members, might not be such a good idea.
The writers then went, not to Youtube, but to the satellite channel UKGold (there's a clue to that in the little logo in the top left hand corner of the video you linked to). Public reception to the new series would seem to more than justify the BBC's decision to pass on the series.
So, alleging the BBC declined to air the new series on grounds of political correctness, rather than choosing not to broadcast something that was, critically regarded as "fucking awful", is slightly wide of the mark, no?
