The Twitter account of Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, appears to be reactivated Friday morning following Elon Musk's takeover of the site.

Twitter locked the rapper's account earlier this month after an antisemitic post that threated Jewish people.

Musk has not yet commented on Ye's account status, but the last time the artist appeared on Twitter after a hiatus, Musk wrote, "Welcome back to Twitter, my friend!"

The ban on the Twitter account used by Ye, the rapper and fashion designer formerly known as Kanye West, was not lifted by the company this week, despite reports circulating widely on Friday that it was. His account was never banned in the first place.

Twitter took a different action two weeks ago, “restricting” his account after he posted an antisemitic tweet. It also removed the offending message

So it looks like it was probably a temporary restriction that expired. Kind of like a 2 week 12b violation.
