Teabaggers and their allies in the GOP have been trying to have it both ways.

They’ve made deficits and the national debt their raison d’etre while simultaneously dry humping the coffin of St. Reagan, who ran up record debts on the country’s credit card — as did the Bush father and son dynasty.

If the Teabaggers were truly deficit hawks, they would be denouncing the likes of Reagan and the Bushes and hailing Bill Clinton — who left the second Bush a record surplus.

Saint Alzheimer raised taxes and increased the debt, in addition to insisting that the debt limit be raised.

Reagan accepted one of those "compromises" that the left offers and then reneges on...

The last sane economic policy we've had was under Eisenhower, and almost we had one with the split power under Clinton... almost. Unfortunately budgeted surpluses that never actually appear and when we borrow money to pay the interest on the debt, it isn't sane. We almost got there once in my lifetime, and almost had a balanced budget amendment to ratify... one vote short. I can only hope we find a place where we can get there. This insane trillions of extra spending has to end. This isn't WWII, we shouldn't be spending like it is.
