British security company G4S, the world’s largest, has responded to a four-year long global BDS campaign protesting its role in Israeli violations of Palestinian human rights by announcing yesterday it will sell its Israeli subsidiary in the coming “12 to 24 months.”

This doesn't mean that G4S are not racist Brits coining it in on the backs of the world's underclasses. They are still doing that. It means that the racist G4S Brits have found that working directly for fascist Israelis is unpalatable in more countries than it is not.

A World Jewish Congress assembly adopted a resolution calling the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement against Israel a manifestation of anti-Semitism.

On Wednesday, a special Plenary Assembly of the World Jewish Congress in Buenos Aires, Argentina, voted to approve the resolution, which “considers the Boycott, Divestment and Sanction (BDS) movement, and all other attempts to delegitimize the State of Israel, to be manifestations of anti-Semitic discrimination against the only truly democratic country in the Middle East, and damaging to any genuine efforts for peace in the region.”

More than 400 delegates and observers from 67 Jewish communities in 40 countries are on hand for the assembly, which is being held for the first in Latin America.

The resolution also lauds the efforts of countries and community leaders who have taken concrete action to condemn BDS or acknowledge the discriminatory nature of BDS and other forms of unlawful activities against Israel, including the executive, legislative or judiciary bodies of the United States, Canada, France and the United Kingdom, as well as American states such as Illinois, South Carolina and Tennessee.

It commends the WJC leadership for establishing a department in the organization’s New York office to counter BDS and other forms of discrimination against Israel, bringing together like-minded organizations and movements from around the world.

“We will answer the lies on the Internet and in the media with the truth,” WJC President Ronald Lauder said in a keynote address. “Remember one important fact: We are not the Jews of the 1930s. We have influence; we have great power, we have tremendous resources, and we have creativity that is the envy of the world. I intend to use everything in our arsenal, and I will not be silent. We will not be silent. The world will hear our voice.”

The assembly also voted unanimously to allow Lauder to serve a third consecutive term as WJC president, as stipulated by the organization’s constitution.

Also Wednesday, Buenos Aires lawmaker Omar Ahmed Abboud, former secretary-general of the Islamic Center of Argentina, presented a proclamation by the Argentina capital’s legislature to declare Lauder a “Guest of Honor” of the city.

Jesus you make me laugh. I have a Thai wife of many years, two sons who are half Thai, both have gained 1st class degrees in Computer Science. My daughter in law is from Vietnam and has an MBA and works in London. In fact I have just come back from Vietnam and Thailand, whilst my youngest son is travelling in Japan. As I said before- to have foreign relatives and friends is perfectly normal. To applaud the obstruction of foreign refugees by way of razorwire, attack dogs, pepper spray, gas and night-sticks is racist. Come on back when you've grasped the nettle.

No matey, there is no obligation under international treaties to take in economic migrants, genuine asylum seekers are a different story. The Schengen Treaty is dead and we were right to have nothing to do with it. The vast majority of those migrants are not Syrians and amongst the Syrians most are army deserters. I reject your emotion laden bullshit for what it is, the UK is probably the racially tolerant country in the world bar none.

I doubt that you have ever even stepped out of the USA, I have been to many countries including virtually every one in Eastern Europe. I saw them transitioning from Communism to free market economies in the early 90's. My next door neighbours are from Albania and they can give you chapter and verse about the evil Hoxha regime. Lenin himself said that Socialism was just a stepping stone along the road to Communism.

Vastly fewer. I'd be curious to know, by what standards, does a socialist go about calculating deaths caused by capitalism? Also, the entire period of the history of socialist "development" is dark.
