And in this case, there was NO 'gold digging'...no shakedown...as a ,matter of fact, the women was afraid it would ruin her business and her standing with the various hotels she did business with....
Read the entire complaint filed with the police....its about 14 pages...and its got GORE written all over it...
the things she says Gore said, the words he used, the actions she describes are the things you can't make up....they describe Gore to a tee....exactly what you can imagine him doing and saying.....its 130% believable.....

I agree with all of your statements, except with a caveat for the last one.

You said "...a woman could be intimidated by the ex-VP? Yes." Definitely that could be true, but I have to ask "why now"? He was an ex-VP then and he's an ex-VP now. She went to the police, made an accusation, and then for years refused to follow up on it. Why not follow up?

She said she didn't want to have him prosecuted for the crime of sexual assault, but considered suing him in civil court. Why not? Is it because the burden of proof in a civil case in less than in a criminal case?

Then the woman said she decided to [go public] "to protect other women who may have experienced the same trauma", and followed up that noble sentiment by going to the National Enquirer and asking $1 million for her story. Surely all of this isn't a red flag only for me.

I'm looking at this woman's actions and finding them not believable, but that's an opinion. It's like trying to untangle a mystery when all the facts aren't known. Maybe something else will come to light that gives her more credibility to me but the facts so far aren't doing it.

I neither liked nor disliked Gore, but if you want a "dis" from me, here's something: I think the Gore marriage broke up because Al's cheating with someone. I think it's more likely than the assault claim.

I don't want to see a woman get abused but with that blanket statement I don't really care about this story one way or the other. Gore's a male and let's say he really did want a happy ending (i don't know if he did or not) that's not unnatural.

As far as his marriage it sounds like he was seeing someone else here recently but again that his own deal. I never like to see marriages break up or end but everyone's gotta do what they gotta do so I'm not going to judge the Gore's on believing they will be happier apart.

And this is a cynical view I know but Gore is famous and rich and travels a lot so the idea that he may have gotten some action on the side is not surprising.

Uh, he was doing the Captain Marvel thing while Billy Batson was on the Rock of Eternity. Now that Batson has returned, I'm actually not sure what has become of Freddy. He and Mary appeared together in 52, and provided security at the wedding of Black Adam and Isis... I'm only halfway through 52, however, and in this storyline, Billy is still on the Rock.
