Wise up LZ Granderson!

I should avoid ever reading anything from CNN... but I got this new smartphone, and it had some stuff already programmed into the RSS feed, so I happened to see this idiot's rant, and felt compelled to respond. He somehow managed to earn some big award for journalist of the year from some gay activism group, and he has contributed to ESPN and apparently holds down a living with CNN, offering up genius articles like this!

Wise up GOP: Ditch the tea party
By LZ Granderson, CNN Contributor (and Liberal yahoo.)

Grand Rapids, Michigan (CNN) -- I guess if John Boehner enjoyed his party's in-fighting and hints of mutiny during the debt ceiling talks, then the 15 months leading to the general election will be pure ecstasy because it's likely going to be more of the same.

No, LZ.. it's going to be much more intense, as the early primaries roll in, and pinheads begin to realize the enormity of the TEA Party, the pressure on Boehner and the rest of the establishment republicans, will intensify.

But if Boehner doesn't like being taken hostage by elements of his own party, then I suggest he adheres to the same criticism he hurls President Barack Obama's way -- stop leading from behind.

Man up and do what he, Sen. John McCain and many other top-tier Republicans know needs to be done for the sake of the party: Kick those freeloading tea partiers out.

Freeloading? I think the TEA Party is the reason republicans hold the level of power they now hold in congress, and the "top-tier" republicans know that.

Vote to censure, campaign against them and deny them GOP resources. Do whatever needs to be done to force them to get in line or stand on their own two feet.

Stand on their own two feet? Look Bub, the TEA Party unseated over 600 Democrat butts from statehouse seats all over this country in November. That is unprecedented! A record number of governorships as well as control of state legislatures, all the result of the grass roots movement known as the TEA Party.

At this point you might be wondering if I want Obama to lose, but that question is irrelevant. Wait... Nooo... it's VERY relevant! You certainly want Obama to win, and you will resort to using the guise of journalism to smear an entire segment of the American population, because you disagree with them politically. I think it's the most relevant thing of all here, LZ! The more important question is how the political system got so broken that the country can have a 9.2 unemployment rate and the few legitimate challengers to the incumbent are overshadowed by carnival barkers. Well, the country got to 9.2 unemployment under the leadership of Obama and mostly under a full Democrat-controlled congress. This, in spite of the promise made, that $875 billion stimulus would keep unemployment below 8%

So if the tea partiers are so powerful that Boehner has to answer to their every whim, why do they rely on Republican resources for survival? The answer to that is simple -- they're not that powerful. They only bark like they are.

What the hell are you smoking LZ? The TEA Party is not a political party leeching off the GOP! They do not receive funding or support from the GOP, and in many cases, are literally fighting against GOP-funded establishment candidates! The TEA Party's resources come from grass roots organizers and the people. Boehner doesn't have to answer to any whim, the choice is totally his. I think you have a gross misunderstanding as to the power of the TEA Party, and it's a shame you're going to have to lose all political power in Washington, before you've realized that.

And they might soon find out that what little bite they do have is not very intimidating.

Again... We'll see about that.

This week the Tea Party Express -- in a bit of a risky move -- is bringing all of its heavy hitters to Wisconsin to support six Republican state senators who face recall elections. If Sarah Palin, Joe the Plumber, Michele Bachmann and Ann Coulter can't save the GOP from angry voters in a crucial swing state such as Wisconsin, what motivation would traditional Republicans have to continue to listen to their demands? Everyone knows the GOP can win Alabama without the tea party's help. What Boehner and company are trying to figure out is what they will lose without them. The recall election may provide some answers....But I don't think Boehner needs to wait that long....Not if the tea partiers are going to continue to refuse to compromise and threaten to go their own way. Perhaps instead of bending over backward to appease them, Boehner should just call their bluff. Let's see whether Bachmann's crew really has the political capital necessary to be a party in more than name only. After all, the country needs a third party: Let's see if voters think the tea party is it.

Oh yes... now we're getting somewhere.. You want to divide the GOP, have the TEA Party splinter off, and then Obama wins re-election in a cakewalk, right? And I notice you have yet to tell us one thing the TEA Party has been WRONG about? Nothing on the issues, you seem to be most upset they aren't marching in lockstep... isn't that funny? It was the TEA Party who said the stimulus wouldn't work, and it didn't. It was the TEA Party who said Cash for Clunkers was a bad idea, and it was. It was the TEA Party who said Obamacare would kill jobs, and it has.

As it stands, the GOP's internal strife is making it difficult for either group to capitalize on Obama's vulnerability. While a recent Pew poll found independents are split on whether Obama should be re-elected, they are not going to hand the country over to someone who is going to try to legislate their rights away in the name of Jesus. And many of the Tea Party's heroes -- Bachmann, Palin and Texas Gov. Rick Perry -- are not shy about their theocratic intentions. Nor are the majority of independents going to trust a squabbling Republican Party that has to pacify radicals each time an important piece of legislation has to be negotiated.

Ahhh... let's work in a little Jesus bashing for good measure, eh? Apparently you have a comprehension problem when it comes to the Constitution, it's impossible for America to have a theocracy. Sorry, not gonna happen! Good and decent people happen to have religious faith, in fact, they very often have religious faith, which is why they are good and decent people. They deserve the same voice in politics as everyone else, and to attempt to somehow deny them this on the basis of their religion, is un-American, and contradicts American principles.

As we saw during budget talks in the spring.

As we heard from the name-calling during the debt ceiling talks this summer.

The only name-calling I hear is from LIBERALS!

Earlier this year, Donald Trump, who is essentially a reality TV star, was the Republican Party's potential leading candidate because he rang the birther movement's cowbell for a few weeks. Now it's the often fact-challenged Bachmann leading some polls. At this rate, Snooki might as well throw her name in. Why not? If the GOP insists on claiming any one of their candidates would be a better president than Obama -- when most everyone can plainly see some of these folks are crazy -- then how can any rational independent voter continue to take the party seriously?

Better question, how are we supposed to take you seriously as a journalist. There are better, more articulate pinhead posts here at JPP from the dumbest of our dumb, that beat this tripe all to hell and back. I can't believe you work for CNN! I mean, I knew CNN had gone downhill, I just had no idea it was that bad. Yeah, we get it LZ... you don't like the TEA Party because they are a bunch of Jesus freaks and extremists, and you think the GOP just needs to 'cut them loose' and maybe they'll form a third party and Obama can win re-election. Got it!

Boehner needs to step up and do some purging. Continuing to claim that the birthers, marriage pledge signers and all of the other radical elements of the tea party movement are among the best of the Republican Party is not a good look for him.

And you would think someone who apparently hits the tanning salon as often as he does would care a lot more about how he, and his party, looks.

Yeah, LZ... all this name-calling and stuff.... indeed!

The opinions in this commentary are solely those of LZ Granderson.
You fucking got THAT right! THANK GOD!
