A female cop is being fired for accidentally shooting a man with his own gun during a traffic stop.

Officer Mindy Cardwell assisted with a traffic stop on December 13 after Jason Arrington, 39, was pulled over for running a red light.

Cardwell tried to remove the gun but it accidentally discharged and shot Arrington in the thigh.

The bullet caused severe bleeding, which officers stopped with a tourniquet.

Arrington is expected to fully recover but filed a lawsuit for injuries affecting his crane operator job.

An Internal Affairs investigation found Officer Cardwell incompetent and recommended her termination.

Woman on trial in West Virginia denies locking adopted teens in shed​




A woman accused of forcing adopted children to perform hard farm labor denied confining two of the children to a shed despite police finding them in the structure behind a locked door, news outlets reported.

Jeanne Kay Whitefeather took the stand Tuesday, accused of mistreating four of her five children, all of whom are black. Whitefeather faces more than a dozen felony counts that include forced labor, civil rights violations, human trafficking and gross child neglect.
