Will trump pardon himself & his family??

It is being rumored that he is looking into doing exactly that..

Obviously implies there is a potential reason for him to do so..

My guess his followers will be fine w/ it, what about congress? The SCOTUS??

Half the fools here claim to be some kinda lawyer, so what are your thoughts??
 
Yes Bill, I've heard this, and some eminent scholars even proposing that the constitution would not preclude a self pardon. This is where I have to come in and be the genius everyone needs. I am a reticent interloper.
I observe and intrude when it saves the planet. OK, the reason he can't pardon himself is the same reason that he can't scratch between his own shoulder blades. He needs help. A pardon is by definition something one does for another and never for oneself.
"I beg your pardon" "Pardon me" The simple solution to this fake question is to be found in the meaning of the word. Therefore a presidential pardon is reserved for others. Trump cannot pardon himself, or thank himself, or any other act which by definition requires the grace of another person.

Trump will go down the list of abuses of power, probably ending up in a self-pardon, which will cause a constitutional crisis.

Even Nixon decided against going down that road, although he did investigate the option just prior to leaving office in disgrace. In other news, Trump is investigating pardoning himself.
 
Imagine the worst, most fucked up thing Trump could do.

That's what he will do.

Then, he'll go downhill from there.

I would think that from their perspective having a malleable Pence would be a much better option..
