Will Trump do better than 3.7% unemployment?

Pretty doubtful. He was, after all, the worst jobs President in modern American history.

But, no matter what the # is, Trump will proclaim it the best ever.

And that is where Biden fails. Trump knows how to market. Biden, not so much.

The labor force participation rate was higher when Trump left office than it is now.

Unemployment has long been a nearly useless number.

Unemployment stats are a huge lie, you moron. People who have made a career out welfare or crime and are not even looking for work are not counted as unemployed! If they were, the rate would be 20% and among blacks 75%.

Trump took immediate credit for the economy that Obama left him. Obama fixed a Bush near 2nd depression. In fact, Trump had no significant economic policies. After a couple of years of claiming he was responsible for its success, he did the normal Repub thing and gave huge tax breaks to corporations and the super-wealthy. He has a big part of the blame for the horrible wealth gap that is a threat to America.

The numbers are made up/guesses now....they have to be as such a huge part of the economy is now black market....totally off the books. VDH talks about this often...people in California who rarely pay sales taxes (often buying stolen goods) and who work for cash under the table as we used to say.

This is inane. Trump was the "worst" only because he closed down the economy for a "two week pause to stop the spread", then two years later they started to open the economy again.

Fauci said jump, Trump said "How high??" and the liberals freaked because he was "anti-science"...

He botched COVID.

No one will convince me otherwise. He said it would disappear, sent all kinds of mixed signals, and never had a plan to adjust America's workforce to the new conditions.

He failed. He was the worst jobs President in modern history. That's just a fact.

This is wrong...I should have said it was higher before the states wrecked the economy using COVID as an excuse.

Trump did a poor job of handling covid because he thought it was a crisis when it was in fact a scam. Anyway, it was Joe the Pedophile Vegetable who gave us the vaccine mandates - something he had no authority to do. That's the big crime. JPV should be locked up forever.

If he botched Covid it was because he literally did everything and anything that Fauci asked him to do, including closing down the economy. That's just a fact.

Not trying to be snarky - but I'm fuzzy on how that clears him of responsibility.

It's a leader's job to listen to counsel from ALL areas that are impacted - and make decisions based on what they see as leading to the best outcome.

Leaders get all kinds of advice. They're the ones that have to make the decisions.

Something to be remembered about a country with three branches of national government, fifty state houses and a free economy, existing in a topsy turvy world, is that employment like so much else depends on more than who the president is.

Shut Up.

He was, in fact, the worst President in modern history...not just on jobs. I can understand people who think a Republican is generally a better choice than a Democrat for the office, but anyone who still supports Trump for President is either insane or stupid. One could almost pick anyone at random in America and make a better choice than Trump.

When I think of America now, I think how it was before Trump - and after Trump.

We're more coarse, angry, divided. He unleashed racism, xenophobia & hate, and made those qualities part of our identity. He pushed us to the point where we are at a much higher risk level for civil war (and this is something they evaluate and measure).

It's insane to me that anyone could think this guy is good for the country. He is, as you said, the worst President in modern history. Easily.
