Romney supporters say there’s little point in trying to sway voters who may have ruled out the Republican for his Mormon religion – a group that may or may not be large enough to pose a serious political obstacle to the former Massachusetts governor.

“For social and religious conservatives who really care primarily about values, I think they’ll be very happy with Mitt Romney,” said evangelical public relations executive Mark DeMoss, a Romney supporter. “For those few who are bent on drawing theological boundaries, it’ll be different.”

Romney’s attitude is different this time around than it was in his last presidential bid, when he campaigned as an orthodox social conservative and gave a speech at Texas A&M attempting to quiet concerns about his faith.

Family Research Council President Tony Perkins acknowledged that evangelical voters will “first look at another evangelical candidate.”

I don't see it as a big deal. Hunstman is a Mormon too, and out of the 15 Mormons in Congress, only 3 are Dems. Seems like Mormons do just fine.

Are you a conservative evangelical?

They have a big issue with Mormons, apparently, and have for years.

From 2005:

The Southern Baptist Convention website categorizes the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a ''cult" that is ''radically" different from historic, biblical Christianity.

A faith guide issued by the influential Christian right group Focus on the Family declares that ''God cannot be identified . . . with the Mormon religion's notion of god." And each year, evangelical organizers behind the National Day of Prayer bar Mormons from speaking at their proceedings.

BTW, they probably consider you a heathen devil-worshiper.

If he gets the nomination do you really believe that they'll just let Obama continue in office? They might have a problem with Mormons, but they certainly have a problem with Liberals.

I wonder if they'll split the vote by writing in some evangelical?

But you're probably right. With typical hypocrisy, they'll damn Romney as a cultist but vote for him anyway, because many of them still think Obama is a Muslim.

Voting for the lesser of two evils is a long-standing tradition.

So you think Mitt Romney is "evil". Interesting.

The subject of the thread is "them" not me. Your delusional fixation on my person notwithstanding, I think the people who are the subject of this thread may see him as a lesser of two evils, which says absolutely nothing about my personal opinion of Mitt.

So you won't vote for Obama or Romney?

LOL. "...let Obama continue in office?"???? LOL.

LOL. "...let Obama continue in office?"???? LOL.

I think that is how they would see it... They can either not vote and "let" somebody that they think is awful continue in office, or they can vote for somebody that they don't like, but dislike less so than a "late-term abortion loving liberal"...

What do you think? I'm sure you first will pretend that the sentence was some sort of "ownership" thing, but really it is the same as would have been written if he were white or Native American. Do you think these people would sit idly by or vote third party and by their inaction/foolishness allow somebody they think is "worse" hold the office?

So you won't vote for Obama or Romney?

What? You're simply an odd duck. Do you think this will draw me out in some inane way? We're talking about the Baptists you posted about in your thread, nothing I have stated would suggest I would or wouldn't vote for either of those two.

So, given a choice between Romney and Obama, how will the Dancin' Dalai from Hurricane Alley vote?

I almost always vote for the Libertarian candidate.

And who would that be in 2012?

Yet you and your drunken buddy Billy saw fit to jump in and comment, even though neither of you is an evangelical conservative.

If you're not a "Baptist", why are you concerned with Mittzie's Mormonism? And you say I'm odd?

I am not concerned with his Mormonism, I simply answered your question. As for Billy, he is responsible for his own posts, he is likely just answering your question. I do not know who the Libertarian candidate will be next year, the convention hasn't been held.
