Why do French elections matter in America......................

The U.K. and Ireland are much more similar to the U.S. in culture than The Continent.
Brexit was the predecessor to Trump.
Does anybody know what's going on in the Republic of Ireland?

France matters because domestic politics is enfluenced by global politics. The anti-immigration movement is affected by what's going on in Europe---not to mention the anti-global movement.

But the take home on the French election is how narrowly France[!] kept from electing an anti-globalist.

For now, at least.

Um...Darth?

The margin of victory was 32%.

In what version of reality is that "narrow"?
