White House Credits Stimulus With up to 2M Jobs

Obama highlighting White House report saying up to 2m jobs created or saved by stimulus

President Barack Obama is trumpeting a new White House estimate that his top economist calls "stunning": His stimulus plan has already created or saved up to 2 million jobs.

The analysis is part of the administration's quarterly report to Congress on the controversial $787 billion package of spending and tax cuts he signed weeks after taking office.

Obama planned to highlight the report Wednesday during a visit to a Lanham, Md., training center for union electricians that specializes in "green" technology.

Republicans have denounced the stimulus plan as an expensive flop, pointing to a national unemployment rate stuck at 10 percent and December figures showing the economy shed 85,000 more jobs.

They actually still believe their own lies. Do they think most Americans are that stupid that we cannot tell when they are lying to us.

From another rag...

Even before Barack Obama took the oath of office, his economic advisers projected that without hundreds of billions of dollars in government spending, the U.S. economy could lose another 3 million to 4 million jobs on top of the 3.1 million lost in 2008.

It turns out they were optimistic. Even with the $787 billion stimulus package that Obama signed in February, more than 4 million jobs have been lost in 2009, the worst year for job losses since World War II. The jobless rate that advisers projected would peak at 8% has topped 10%.

I agree with you it's hillarious. Turbo-libs stepping out of their comfort zone trying to preach to business people about the economy!!!

Priceless

What I find more hilarious is that the same Republicans that reject the stimulus funds as a total failure take credit for the benefits of the stimulus bill and the projects it funds in their home states and districts.

WARNING!!!!

WARNING!!!!

ASS KISSING HACK ALERT!!!!

DUNG HAS ENTERED THE THREAD. HE WILL NOW TRY TO DIVERT ANY AND ALL CRITICISM OF SAINT OBAMA (aka... 'THE ONE'...'THE MESSIAH')

Garbage from the resident Republican hack who refuses to admit it to himself.

I was simply commenting on what I find more hilarious than Topper's suggestion that elected Democrats don't know much about the economy.

There are plenty of Republicans, including Republican leadership, that recognize that the stimulus bill has worked to fund projects that create jobs and improve the economy in their states and districts. These Republican representatives like to take credit for those projects and the jobs created thereby, while at the same time they shit on the stimulus bill. They can't have it both ways and find it hilarious that they even attempt it.

I also find it hilarious that plenty of Republicans like yourself will accept the findings of the CBO when it suits them but reject the findings of the CBO when it doesn't. With respect to the stimulus bill, as of December 1, 2009, the CBO found that the stimulus bill created up to 1.5 million jobs.

Do you have anything of substance to say, SF? Or are you just going to attack me for being as supportive of Democrats as you are of Republicans?

gotta agree with the freak on this one.
Dung, while the market in general does better under dems (it's true). Accusing the repubs of playing politics = them agreeing with the stimulus is even funnier than the first two jokes combined.

Obama, his economists and the claim that the White House Stimulus Package has created 2 million jobs? It is extremely funny. Whatever jobs Obama have created, you can bet they were government jobs, which do not count. If he think he can say whatever lies he wants, think again because American people are wise. Why don't just we ask unemployed people about this?
