what is the goal of health care reform?....

PostmodernProphet

fully immersed in faith..
so, what is the goal of liberalism in health care reform?.....

insuring 47 million uninsured people?....
making health insurance cheaper for 300million people?....
putting health insurance companies out of business?....
getting a political edge over conservatives?.....

it seems to me that liberals are having trouble putting together a reform package because they have too many goals....

what are the top ten things we ought to be doing to reform health care and do the current proposals deal with them?....

start with
* no cancellation or rejection for coverage due to pre-existing illnesses...
* portability of coverage, health insurance should not be dependent on who you work for or where you live...
* simplification....doctors and hospitals ought not to need multiple full time employees just to sort out which insurance company needs which form....
add to the list....

the real goal was to gain more customers for insurance companies.
politicians get influence and power and probably a few kickbacks also.

step one: introduce public option and alternatively propose mandating insurance.
1A be sure public option is vauge
1B be sure mandate has penalty for non compliance

step two: argue about unimportant distractions(Joe Wilson censure, etc..) instead of details of compliance, identity, and actual bill.
2A be sure to avoid reading bill... make jokes about reading it ,for example, Conyers
2B be sure to claim the bill is legal gibberish

step three:Profit
3A insurance lobbyists help with campaign costs in the future
