Well did you hear of anything new or different? I heard the same old rhetoric about tax increases on the wealthy, and "fair share" a lot, which is precisely what we heard 4 years ago. I didn't hear what Obama plans to do now, how he plans to fix the problems created mostly by his own policies from the first 4 years, or reduce the deficit, fix Social Security, or anything else. What I heard repeatedly, was that Obama is a great black president and those who are opposed to him are racists. I heard THAT message in every way shape and form it could be articulated, so that's where my analysis comes from. I also heard Obama use the word "revenge" and no one seemed to ever explain what that meant. I just put two and two together, he must mean revenge to the whites who've been racists and kept the black man down. Does anyone have another explanation?

I think it's important for you to realize that what you hear doesn't = what most of the rest of America hears. Everything you hear has made its way through an extreme partisan filter first, and can't be trusted.

Revenge for the lies and smear tactics used by the Repub folks. From death panels to the threat of economic catastrophe the people voted deliberately and overwhelmingly for the very people you claim will bring an apocalypse. While the rich get richer and the corporations stash the money away the Repub message was financial doom. Give the wealthy and corporations more money or you will suffer! We can’t guarantee medical care or whether you’ll keep your house but we’ll try to ensure you have a job and earn enough to have hot dogs for dinner.

They deliberately voted for a Democrat candidate even if his/her opponent might, in some rare cases, been a better selection because they knew the “better” candidate would still carry the Republican stench. The stench that is the belief the sick and disadvantaged should suffer while others have more than plenty.

Be sensible. Any layoffs were planned long before election day. And here's the thing; delaying the layoffs until after the election does not necessarily mean it helped Obama. In fact, it probably helped Romney because if a person is getting laid off they will be depending on government programs and they are less likely to vote for a government who would brand them as "takers" and "moochers".

As for ObamaCare, keep protesting. You can bet those laid off folks just joined the ranks of ObamaCare supporters.

You're forgetting about mid-term elections. If the Repubs expect to be part of any government they better shape up. Obstructionist tactics are not going to be viewed very favorably by the electorate if the country is in trouble. I have a feeling Obama is going to be much more aggressive this term. What does he have to lose? I'm expecting a more in-your-face approach.
