In one of those strange twists of fate, I am watching a repeat of the excellent BBC drama called Breaking the Mould about the discovery and development of Penicillin in the 1930s and 1940s. I have stated it before, but I am going to again, that the war in the Pacific and in Europe would have been vastly more difficult without its development.
