The dumbing down of US citizens and the growth of the Democrat Party....coinsidence ?...I think not.
Ok kid. What importance do you put on teachers on education. Do you think that the period a teacher gets with a child is enough to make that child smart on the topic? If the child does not become smart, is it the teachers fault?
A child will only apply themselves as much as their parents drive. Good parenting and the follow up after school is the key to education. But what happens when that parent isn't there, but working.....
In the old days a mother could stay at home with the children and teach them all day long. A parent is the best teacher. But today, both parents are slaves to low wages. And when they get home, they place their child in front of a tv to do mandatory house work. Studies even show that "parents should spend a half hour engaging their children a day" ONLY A HALF A FREAKIN HOUR! IS THIS SERIOUS! What is worse is that some parents find it hard to make this time do to working to "support their family".
You know wages are being talked about and Corporations are making multi-billions while the petty workers are given minimum wage. In my opinion, ANY hard working American should make enough money that their spouse doesn't have to work overtime or a second job, so they have time to educate their children.
But today, since so many are busy working, we have PBS to educate our kids and break the cycle of uneducated if needed. Yet the only cut the last Right Winger presidential nominee was willing to verbalize was PBS. The free education source for kids with druggy mommy's and daddys who plop their kids in front of a tv.
But I listen to your media and know why you don't support it. You don't use it, so why pay for it, (R)ight? Yet after every shooting "lack of education" is the issue the Right always accepts. And you think that a school system set up on what parents make in wages is what should define their class size and basic education. Until two druggie partents come into play. What about the possibly smart child? Parents spent the money on drugs=huge classroom, less technology, lowest paid teacher in the region etc.
But this is what separates the Right from the Left. Two bad parents doesn't mean a child can't break the mold and prosper if treated equally.
(note that PBS costs the same per year as Afghanistan war does per day)
