"Trolls were also spreading fake images of suspects. Police have identified Stephen Paddock, a 64-year-old man from Mesquite, Nevada, as the shooter. But social media accounts were labeling other people the shooter, while conservative media personality Wayne Allyn Root tweeted to his nearly 110,000 followers that there were shots fired at multiple hotels in a "coordinated Muslim terror attack."

"Las Vegas attack: How far-right trolls named the wrong man as the shooter"

"The right-wing news site Gateway Pundit also picked up these rumors as fact in a now-deleted article. That article's URL was still the top result for Danley's name on Google in the early hours of Monday morning. The headline, still visible in search results, read, "Las Vegas Shooter Reportedly a Democrat Who Liked Rachel Maddow, MoveOn.org and Associated with anti-Trump Army."

Conservatives here have fallen right in line, on banning posts of course. I've seen the shooter as a member of ISIS, due to a quick conversion, to some guy dressed in pink participating in an anti-Trump rally

Just beautiful how easy their media preys upon them

64 years old. It will be interesting to see just what kind of social media content he may have had. His brother said he hadn't seen him for a year or so. This is just horrible.

give the right time

in a year they will be saying it was a false flag

just like they did to dead children in one of the last horrible shootings

Give 'em a chance to make something up about her. The usual six degrees of separation argument.

That didn't take long. https://www.justplainpolitics.com/s...The-Las-Vegas-Shooting-What-She-Did-Was-Awful

she was grotesquely stupid/crass trying to make an issue of how silencers would have killed more.

Hillary Clinton ripped over ‘ignorant’ tweet about guns after Vegas rampage
Hillary Clinton’s critics slammed her for suggesting on Monday that an NRA-backed measure working its way through the House that eliminates restrictions on silencers would have made the Las Vegas shootings even deadlier.

“The crowd fled at the sound of gunshots,” she wrote on Twitter after a lone gunman used automatic weapons to kill at least 58 people and wound hundreds more at a concert on Sunday night.

“Imagine the deaths if the shooter had a silencer, which the NRA wants to make easier to get.”

She called on people to stand up to the National Rifle Association and defeat the bill.

”Our grief isn’t enough. We can and must put politics aside, stand up to the NRA, and work together to try to stop this from happening again,” the former Democratic presidential nominee wrote.

NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch said silencers hardly make a difference in reducing the sound of gunfire. “Suppressors only reduce by a few decibels, still same decibel level as a jack hammer,” she wrote on her personal Twitter account.

Buck Sexton, a radio host and former CIA officer, said Clinton’s comments were “entirely irrelevant.”

”Appallingly stupid, and entirely irrelevant, Mrs Clinton She knows nothing about firearms, and even worse, she doesn’t care,” he wrote on Twitter.

The Hearing Protection Act, which is part of an omnibus Sportsmen’s Heritage and Recreational Enhancement Act, would remove restrictions over the use of silencers and treat them as regular firearms.

Supporters of the legislation say they’re needed to protect the hearing of gun owners, but opponents contend the sound of a gunshot alerts people to danger and helps police locate the shooter.

Suppressors dampen the sharp ear-damaging shockwave, only lowers overall sound by 14 to 43 decibels depending on the ammunition used.
