we were SO LUCKY to have gotten Trump

The House controls the purse.

Who is in charge of the House and what has she been doing the past seven months besides cheating on COVID rules?

Exactly, congress passed two bills since May, both containing a $1200 payment to every taxpayer.

Moscow McTurtle hid in his shell for 7 months, only crawling out to get a SCOTUS nominee approved.

Recent reports suggest that Nancy Pelosi and Steven Mnuchin are closer to reaching a deal, but Mitch McConnell has told the White House to hold off.
McConnell is said to be worried that a stimulus bill could affect the timely confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court before the election.

DOTARD didn't do a damned thing.

no, dipshit, the House does not control the purse!! they cannot unilaterally PASS ANY FUNDING BILL, GOON. all spending bills have to ORIGINATE in the House, but they still have to get through the Senate and then signed by the president. the new covid bill, for example, was first passed by the House IN MAY.....and turtle boy let it sit there this whole time without any negotiation or even letting it come to the floor for a vote.

Pelosi had no intention of allowing Trump to sign a $2000 COVID relief bill *before* the election.

You really think I didn’t know the House can’t pass a spending bill all by it’s lonesome lol?

You’re struggling this morning.

they are two separate bills but combined in one vote. you can amend one, and not the other...
1 vote = 1 bill. It looks like the spending bill is a CResolution? correct? yes or no.

yes you can't amend a CR,but the bill IS ONE BILL COMBINED and PASSED WITH ONE VOTE
Are you claiming Congress passed 2 separate bills under one vote?
Not even Congress is that sleezy ???

so any amendment would have to clear reconcilliation committees. and a new bill requires a new vote

You don't know that, she requested $1200, what makes you think she wouldn't agree to $2000?

It was Moscow McTurtle who didn't even want a $1200 direct payment, let alone $2000.

Some other senate teabaggers? NOTHING at all.

August 6th 2020

Rep. Lance Gooden, R-Texas, said Wednesday that at least 20 Senate Republicans will not vote for a fresh coronavirus stimulus deal.

"I believe there will be at least 20-plus Republicans that are no-votes on whatever agreement, if there is an agreement, comes forward," Gooden said on "Mornings with Maria." "I think that's the same on the House side. Republicans are not united in this belief that we need to spend trillions of more dollars at this point, especially if it involves concessions to [House Speaker] Nancy Pelosi that are too painful."

Party before country, party and power before even their own constituents.

They dont, you have failed at minimal understanding of the relationship between Trump and his supporters, in fact your understanding is so poor that it looks like you never tried.

Yep, we understand that relationship perfectly.

Dumb and Dumber

The senate had their chance for months to pass one bill at a time, they punted.

they were loaded with Progeressive crap like taking over local pension liabilities/
Although I have no intention of defending McConnell- the Dems always win the sleeze prize

Ponder this: Pelosi came way down from her original 2.8T ask to within a couple hundred million of McConnell.
That is why it too so long to advance -Pelosi EVEN SAID HERSELF that this bill is now
OK because we have a new POTUS. she held it up for pure politics

no. you are wrong. here is the real deal-

House Republicans on Thursday blocked a bill by Democrats to provide direct checks of $2,000 to individuals on Thursday, after President Trump called on Congress to amend a newly passed coronavirus relief bill to increase direct payments to $2,000, with $4,000 for a couple.
House Republicans blocked the proposal, which Democrats tried to pass by unanimous consent, but Speaker Nancy Pelosi said there will be a full House vote on the measure next week.

Pelosi is riddled with TDS—she tore up Trump’s SOTU speech on national TV for crying out loud.

No way, would she sit back and allow Trump to score political points before the election by signing a relief bill. Never happen.

How could Pelosi hold up TWO bills that already passed in congress, they PASSED?

It was Mocow McTurtle that held these bills up.

'Progressive crap"?

Like this?

DEC 19 2019

Congress is poised to push through a massive spending bill this week. And politicians are using the opportunity to help fix the pensions and health-care benefits for one group of workers: coal miners.

The measure would help ensure that the 1974 United Mine Workers of America Pension Plan won’t become insolvent. The bill would help protect retirement benefits for 92,000 workers and health care benefits of about 13,000.

The measure was passed in a House of Representatives vote on Tuesday. And the Senate also is expected to approve it, since it has the endorsement of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.

“At my request, our legislation has been included in the government funding bill that will pass Congress and head to President Trump’s desk to become law,” McConnell said in a statement this week.

“I’m proud to continue to be a strong voice for coal miners, retirees and their families, and I look forward to voting to save their benefits,” he said.

gawd almighty..
there were never a second bill until it became needed as a CR to fund the government
the 'negotiations' were over the COVID relief package (only) since June

Pelosi is riddled with TDS—she tore up Trump’s SOTU speech on national TV for crying out loud.

No way, would she sit back and allow Trump to score political points before the election by signing a relief bill. Never happen.

Big deal.

She could have done worse than tear up a script of lies.

Apr 12, 2017 · In 2009, Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) shouted “You lie!” at then- President Barack Obama during his address on health care to a joint session of Congress.

So, why did she and congress agree to the $2000?

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) quickly let President Trump know that if he really wants a coronavirus relief bill that includes $2,000 direct payments to Americans, she's ready to help make it happen.

Pelosi tweeted in response that Republicans "repeatedly refused to say what amount the president wanted for direct checks. At last, the president has agreed to $2,000 — Democrats are ready to bring this to the floor this week by unanimous consent. Let's do it!"

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) also chimed in, saying, "We spent months trying to secure $2,000 checks but Republicans blocked it. Trump needs to sign the bill to help people and keep the government open and we're glad to pass more aid Americans need." Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) said she has the legislation already written and "ready to go."

Congress already changed the amount to $2000, 'and ready to go"?

Blitzer: Even members of your own caucus, Madam Speaker, want to accept this deal, $1.8 trillion, Congressman Ro Khanna for example. But let met just quote Ro Khanna, a man you know well. I assume you admire him. He's a Democrat.

And he just said this. He said "People in need can't wait until February, $1.8 trillion is significant and more than twice the Obama stimulus. Make a deal, put the ball in McConnell court."

__________

Pelosi didn’t want a deal before the election because she loathes Trump and because the WH was at risk. The House initiates spending bills and the TDS riddled Madame Speaker controls the House.

Case dismissed.
