we were SO LUCKY to have gotten Trump

Why, I always ask, do deficits become so important to Trumpublicans, former Teabaggers, when a Democrat is about to take office?

Because they've been told by their masters, contrary to reality, that (D)s are "tax and spend" leaders. It's in the same chapter as "welfare queens" and "lazy blacks" and right before the one on "the terrible heartache of socialism." lol

Exactly, they’ve been indoctrinated to do for the rich, not themselves, or the poor for only the rich are worthy.

There has been half-serious talk of both civil war and secession if Trump doesn't figure out a way to steal the election.

America's divisions are at epic levels. And Trump has stoked those divisions - he uses them. He pits groups against each other, as he did throughout his real estate career.

This is not a good man. To say we were "lucky" to have him as President doesn't even begin to compute.

State governments are in charge of pandemics, not the national government, the states are the ones who have wrecked our economy and caused a Depression to be headed our way.

Really? Didn't know The Constitution has a provision on pandemics. Normally when a disaster strikes the country, especially a disaster originating from outside an affected state and more so when affecting multiple states, the resources of the Federal Government, including planning, are brought to bear. But since I'm mistaken on this please point out the source of your enlightening information. Thanks.

Very true. The only "lucky" things about this presidency are 1) it's over, and 2) it showed us both the strengths and the weaknesses in our system of government.

Not being sarcastic here. This is what I expected. Trump would show all the weaknesses in our system which we have to get to work correcting.

Exactly right! After all, on 9/11, we didn't expect the separate states to all form their own anti-terrorism units and individual homeland security agencies, and try to ferret out possible terrorists on their own. A pandemic is no different. If this had been correctly handled from the very beginning by the federal government -- i.e., #COVID45 -- the loss of life and economy would be far less than it is now. We have only to look at how other nations with better leadership fared, compared to us.

I wouldn't have signed the Omnibus Bill either!

What does that have to do with the Relief Bill?

If the amount that goes out to the individuals in the Relief Bill needs to be $2000, get Congress to sign off on it, and git' er' done!

Scrap all the fluff both sides tacked onto the budget bill in the 11th hour, keep all the non-partisan expense allocations, and git' er' done!

Where is my Veto pen? I'll show you what needs to go! And I bet you people could help me! LOL!

I bet we could do a better job here in the forum, than THIS CONGRESS AND THIS PRESIDENT!

Donald Trump tucking tail and running off to play puttputt was irresponsible.

He should have said to Congress, "I have a problem with both these bills, and no one is going no where this weekend until I have bills I can sign. So go make the changes I need to see, and I'll be sitting here waiting on you to get the corrected bills back to me ASAP, I'll sign them and then we can all go play PUTTPUTT!"

Yes. It will be interesting to see if the (R)s can drum up any enthusiasm to fix things. It would definitely be in their best interests if they want their party to survive.

If Georgia elects a Dem we may not have to care about the GOP.

I'm okay with that. The polls aren't giving each (R) or (D) candidates an advantage. The $2K stimulus check thing though will hurt the (R)s, in all likelihood.

What happens if the votes are too close again? Another election?

How about you are wrong.

Two separate bills.

can he veto only one of them?.......if so, problem solved.......everyone gets their $600 and Nancy, Pakistan and the Kennedy Arts Center go home to suck on their ice cream........

on the other hand, maybe you're just another annoying little shit who is lying out of his ass.......

which do you think it will be?.......

question......given that the government has shut down the country for the last nine months, why shouldn't the country shut down the government until its ready to sit the fuck down and get back to work?......

And, all the folks who want to open up their businesses should just DO IT already. THAT is a true peaceful protest. Open up, get your employees back to work.
Stop allowing yourselves to be ruled, ordered when to not work, what to wear, what to say, read, write, publish, produce, hear, where not to go, what to think.
At no time in our history of flu seasons and dropping-dead-in-the-streets epidemics have nations EVER closed up and destroyed social interaction or economies......essentially
turned countries into fearful walking dead zombies. The closest type of that physical rule and mind control was under the Hitler, Mao and other tyrannies. "I say you will
DO THIS or you die!" sort of crappola. So, to all those wringing their hands and obeying like sheep to certain local/state dictators who don't even practice what they preach
to their citizens.......just go live your lives in freedom, grow a spine and go back to work, enjoy your families, go out to eat, go to church, get some sunshine and LIVE!
