Was the WH shooter a rightwinger?

Don't wonder. I'll tell you.
By far the majority of private residential estates here are what you choose to call 'gated'. It is not to protect the residents from marauding teens or fat, hirsute, ignorant, gun toting people from Phoenix. We do not have a gang culture as you do. We do not have a violent society like you do. We have one of the lowest serious crime rates in the world. (OK you can stop reading for a while and google the info). The reason we have 'gates' or 'barriers' is so that those of us with residents' access to the tennis and squash courts, the swimming pools and barbeque areas, the outside seating areas and the flower gardens, do not have to fight our way through crowds of people who would take advantage. We have membership cards to show that we have paid for our relative privacy and we have coded access to all buildings, from our own block to the club house, the saunas and the lounge areas and, of course the car parks.
You see, Dumbo, I hope you don't mind my using your first name, we do not live in America. We live in peace. Oh, our security people are armed with telephones not guns and their job is to ensure no one like you enters or uses our private transport.
I do not recall ever having seen anyone fight or even argue in public. I doubt that you have the wit to comprehend that, indeed a group of your countrymen from Texas expressed extreme puzzlement when they were housed here by the organisation that employed them.
We also have, I think, somewhere around a hundred air hostesses living here mostly sharing flats, in accommodation provided by the airlines.
Funny old world, isn't it. Anyway now you know so there is no need for your usual childish come backs. You can go and drive your little van and perhaps, if we are all lucky, get shot.
TTFN.

But why would such a group of "civilized" people want to take advantage of things they haven't a right to; or is this just China's way of seperating the have nots from those that have more?
I guess you don't count HK's problem with the illegal sex trade, as being of any importance.

I can always tell when I've pinched that nerve of yours and it's when you find the need to response with such a lengthy "defense" of your masters.

Absolutely, although we do speak to people like you sometimes. They serve in 7/11 and bring us coffee sometimes so, as you see, we are very egalitarian here. Were we to stray in the direction of America we might even bump into you if you would let me know which branch of Walmart employs you.

This might help you understand:

Not really very special, I think you'll agree.

You seem to be ignoring this part of your society:

What makes you think I am ignoring those pictures? And MY society? I am quite lucky to live here but I live here as a guest so I have no more responsibility for that 'society' than you have for yours; less in fact. I have better things to do at this time of the evening than search the internet for the worst of America - easy though it may be.
I recognise one picture as being a typical roof top of twenty or so years ago when HK was still trying to house the influx of over 3 million mainlanders. The fourth picture is a bit of a puzzle since older homes would have had squat toilets installed. Of course it might have been part of an illegal structure in which case it is extremely unlikely that it is still in existence. The green 'wrapping' in one of the pictures shows a couple of blocks being refurbished or upgraded. But, Dumbo, you run true to form. You change the subject to gated communities and then, having lost by a country mile you try to change it again. Now, no doubt you will try to make me personally responsible for the road accidents and the occasional crime. (there you are - that is known as a 'feed'.)

The "change" to gated communities was to show the irony in your constant attempts to make Hong Kong as some kind of paradise.
It probably is, as long as you're one of the pampered and fortunet; but the truth is, it has as many problems as any large city in the US.

If the society you reside in, was such perfection, then there would be no need for you to isolate yourself from the unwashed masses.

Dumfee, you have never understood irony in the ten years or so that I have known you. You still think it's what your mother used to do on a Tuesday following the Monday wash.
Anyway, this brief interlude with you is over.
Toodle-oo.
