WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The world is enduring the hottest year on record, according to a U.S. national weather analysis, causing droughts worldwide and a concern for U.S. farmers counting on another bumper year.

For the first six months of the year, 2010 has been warmer than the first half of 1998, the previous record holder, by 0.03 degree Fahrenheit, said Jay Lawrimore, chief of climate analysis at the federal National Climatic Data Center.

Period of a El Nino weather pattern is being blamed for the hot temperatures globally.

Thay're wrong. I froze my butt off the first three months of the year. It was unusually cold, and the rest of the year has been normal for the most part where I live.

It never hardly snows here where I live. It snowed this past winter, and it's snowed 4 out of the last 6 yrs.

If you have an alternate theory on current climate change, feel free to post your calculations, models, and/or experiments, and link me up to the scientific journal that published it. I'll take a gander at it.

As of now, the Flat Earth Society has been completely outclassed. Y'all have provided nothing other than opinion, speculation, and assertion. Often accompanied with lots of foot stomping, insult-hurling, and braying. Don't get mad at me man; I'm just posting what the best climate scientists and scientific organizations on the planet are saying. Dude, the facts are simple. Scientists that are getting tax payer money say what the Gov't pays for, and wants to here.

Scientists that are not getting tax payer money, say that the global warming scam is just that. A scam.

You like to refere to people who say you're wrong on this issue as people who are no different than the people in the past who thought the earth was flat.

This belief that the earth is flat was a product of the gov't as well. Only then you would be persecuted for suggesting that the world wasn't flat.

So if you're on the side of the gov't on this issue, you're one of the ones who are just like those who believed that the earth is flat.

Global warming is just a way to raise taxes, and reduce the amount of your welfare check.

So, someone without the basic skills necessary to differentiate between two homophones like "here" and "hear" wants to lecture others on who thinks what?

So, scientists who think climate change is real are all getting paid to say what the Government wants to "here"(sic)? Well, maybe you could include some, oh I don't know...some EVIDENCE to back up your ridiculous assertion?

I'm a product of the public schools. And I'm told at that time the educational system was a lot better. But,,, I guess yoiu got me.

There was no "climategate scandal" it was a hoax. Three independent hearings in the UK and one in the US exonerated all the scientists involved. Try to keep up.

Is your neighborhood the entire global climate? Nowhere does the science say the warming will be uniform or linear. As the warming increases instability in the air currents, some areas of the world will experience temporary cooling. The phenomenon is called GLOBAL warming and CLIMATE change because the GLOBAL CLIMATE, the aggregate of the temperature readings for the entire fucking earth is warming. Your local weather being colder doesn't mean dick. While your local conditions were what? 20 degrees cooler? 30? Moscow was in the mid 40's in January, when its normal temp is 10 to 20 below zero. That's 55 to 65 degrees warmer. That cold air mass that froze your ass off, and apparently exacerbated your brain damage, due to your brain's current rectal location, had to come from somewhere,and your normal nonfreezing air mass had to go somewhere. Let's see: Houston has snow, a shattering experience to the pinheads living there, but only a minor anomaly to the Global Climate, while in Alaska, the goddamn permafrost is thawing. You do understand that It's called permafrost because it is permanently frozen? That means it NEVER thaws, yet now it is. Are permafrost areas appearing in Houston equivalent to that which is thawing in Anchorage? NO. So if that which never thaws is thawing and not appearing elsewhere, what is the only logical conclusion possible? That we need more tax cuts for the wealthy, obviously, and a one-year moratorium on regulations. Gee, I forget: what is it called when you do one thing repeatedly, get the same negative damn result every single time you do it, yet insist on trying it again, expecting and predicting positive results not by doing less of that which has heretofore shown only negative consequences , but by doing more and doing it permanently?
