Russian TV [RT] is reporting that Putin had a change of heart and will meet T. Rex tomorrow.

Is the on again off again diplomatic posturing, or did Vladie blink first?

it's probably perfunctory,but it's a good thing.
They know each other, they should make sure they are on the same page of disagreements.
The Russiaphobes are so hot and heavy right now, any time there is a chance to cut thru the rhetoric it's good

Between the Russiaphobes ginning up Cold war 2.0 and now Russian US relations being all about Syria.
it's going to take some real lower level talks to set up any deals.

The good news is they are talking,
unlike under Obama where he sat on the sideline and dismissed Putin as "bad boy slouching" .

So somethings might actually get done

Have to wonder how much of the Syria talk is misinformation on Trump's part. IOW, does he allow the regime change talk to go on [even though he has no intention of doing it] for Putin's consumption?

They are formulating policy concurrent with events.
That's not a bad thing. the adm is < 90 days old and it's way too early to be making "doctrines"
