I saw a program on North Korea and it made me so grateful to be an American. I did see some parallels to America though, in that during the Bush administration if you spoke out against Bush you were labeled anti-American and the fact that they try to scare us into reporting our neighbors for un-American activity such as not wearing a flag lapel pin and not putting your hand over your heart during the pledge, stupid stuff, like that. They can in no way criticize their government or leader, it leads to severe punishment, not only for you, but for your family. The people all had this look of abject terror in their eyes while the camera was there focused on them like they feared saying the wrong thing. They are taught from birth and it has been going on so long in their society, it will be hard to undo.
