Oil spiked at $120 now its $87 it's doing OK, think long term. There are multiple reasons why we risked our soldiers lives and our riches. And putting China in a box is one of those reasons.

Other than the poster, who says Victor Hanson is one “of the greatest military historians?”

There is little of Victor Hanson on line other than videos, other than he is from the Hoover Institute and a huge Trump supporter, and as for his views on the war, there is less. I did find one offering (https://www.dailysignal.com/2026/03/23/trump-won-the-battle-but-will-he-takeiran/), and from that Victor Hanson doesn’t recognize what victory means to Iran

Iran obviously knew they would be bombed back into the Stone Age, that their navy and Air Force would be demolished, and their ability to launch offensive weapons limited, but, as apparently Trump didn’t recognized, nor Victor, winning for Iran was being able to do enough to disrupt and cripple the world’s economy, which they have been able to accomplish
