the value of capitalism depends on the politcal context in which it's implemented. Capitalism is good when it's raising your general standard of living. It's not as good when slaves are utilized overseas to put your people out of work.

Real capitalism includes the right to say no to shitty deals.

globalization is a shitty deal and should be rejected at the very top in trade policy decisions.

bottom line. modern capitalism is definitely not synonymous with freedom. it can be used to further the ends of freedom, but only with the right political/legal environment in place.
