But we don't have the WILL necessary to help the homeless.

We as a nation would MUCH rather give money to Netanyahu so our Evangelicals can masturbate to fantasies of the End Times, but helping the homeless requires MORE THAN MONEY, it requires that Americans help someone WHO MAY NOT DESERVE THAT HELP.

That's our problem with ALL poverty here in the USA.

WE HATE THE POOR. We love to denigrate them whenever possible and remind them at all times that they haven't EARNED this benefit. Homeless people are even moreso.

Our PRIMARY solution to homelessness is to hassle the homeless until they move away to some other city which just pushes the problems on others.

What REALLY needs to happen is that the Homeless are put in HOMES ASAP. Most homeless advocates say the first thing is to get people off the streets. THEN we will have to start paying more money to have mental health care available in the cities.

It's gonna be expensive and we won't get the benefit of something for us when we give them money. And that will NEVER sit well with Americans.
