US to send 2nd aircraft carrier to eastern Mediterranean ( free mind thread)

My information is that the orders for the second carrier have not been given, that it was originally to join the 5th fleet in the Persian gulf and still might. However, if it is told to join the USS Ford that would indicate to me that the Pentagon still does not trust the many years late failure prone Ford.
 
The USS Ford was recently certified for combat...but that does not remotely mean that it is finally ready for combat....this is the 2023 version of the Pentagon.
 
The second oldest carrier just needed two years in maintenance, and not even for reactor exchange, to get it ready to serve.

That does not inspire confidence.

This is the same branch of the military that has relieved something like 8 commanders this year for failure to perform, and is scraping entire classes of very new ships because they are useless.
 
On the plus side the Navy has not severely damaged a ship through gross navigation errors in about two years. They are trying to get back to the basics.
